The Robotic Shadow's Overturning Moment

[RSOM]

Doctor Nefarious's Laboratory, Planet Magmos, Solana Galaxy

Having successfully fought his way past the lab's army of robotic henchmen available, Captain Copernicus Leslie Qwark, the galaxy's most popular if unlikeliest superhero, had managed to confront his enemy, Doctor Nefarious, face to face. It took almost a full week, but in only a matter of moments, Qwark would bring the Amoeboid creator to justice for what happened in Blackwater City, and consequently make himself even more famous and well-rewarded in the process as well.

For all the witty banter Qwark had planned for his confrontation with the mad scientist, though, he did not expect to recognize Nefarious as a one-time high school classmate of his. And judging by how Nefarious reacted to him when he connected the dots and remembered their unfavorable past together, the Doctor did not like how he was once picked on by Qwark in the typical jock versus nerd fashion.

Putting thoughts of relieving the past or wondering if perhaps his old bullying was led Nefarious to become an evil villain aside, Qwark instead decided to wrap the episode with finality. "Well, Doc, as fun as this has been, it's time for you to go to jail." He casually remarked before reaching down fast to grab the diminutive scientist by the left leg and fling him on his own back.

"Hey! Put me down, you ignoramus!" Nefarious shouted as he tried to hit Qwark's back hard to escape.

"Look on the bright side, Little Neffie, I know this nice, planet sized prison just for hoodlums like you to spend their life sentences at." Qwark just joked in response to Nefarious's attempts to escape and insult him as he then began to leave the lab and Magmos behind him.

Grunting in anger, Nefarious shouted. "Lawrence!"

Instantaneously, a robotic butler that Qwark had to guess was the "Lawrence" person Nefarious had called teleported himself in front of Qwark. In a dry tone of voice, he began to say. "So sorry to disturb your moment of trial, Captain Qwark, sir, but I must-."

"No, I'm the one who's sorry." Qwark quickly interjected with a still present smile that surprised Lawrence.

"Oh? For what?"

The butler received his answer with Qwark slinging the former's employer straight at him.

Onboard Nefarious's ship on route to Planet Rilgar

Having "appropriated" the ship Nefarious and Lawrence had used to escape from the Blackwater City incident, Qwark was flying it back to where the three of them were last while both scientist and butler were handcuffed to their own seats behind Qwark's pilot chair.

"Have no fear, Doctor Nefarious and Butler Lawrence." He was telling them condescendingly. "You'll both be out of my lavishing blonde hair once I drop you off to the Galactic Rangers on Rilgar. And then it will be up for me to celebrate another job well done!"

"I think I'm starting to see why you dislike him so much, sir." Lawrence whispered to Nefarious as Qwark continued to brag.

Nefarious just sighed in response. "I don't know why, Lawrence, but something tells me it could've ended a lot worse for me."

Had a slight idea of how Nefarious's "roboticization" as Up Your Arsenal depicted could have been prevented for quite some time, and while it does cut the Qwark Vid-Comics to three rather than five in a series, I can imagine that Qwark would feel a bit less insecure about himself overtime. I do not know how Nefarious can still do the things he did in the series, or even become a robot, but I can imagine Drek Industries breaking him out around the time of the first game to make use of his intellect, which would drive a potential wedge between Chairman Alonzo Drek and Qwark himself. Something to think about.
