Author's Note: So, I have no idea why I never mentioned it before, but almost 2 months ago I released my first single " Even If". It's out on all streaming platforms, as well as purchasable on iTunes and Amazon. My stage name is Katy Rae. Give it a listen and let me know what you think!

Here's the second and final chapter of " Potential".

Riley stared at the letter, shocked.

"I- I can't believe this," she said.

"What does it say?" Farkle asked.

"He broke up with me," she said, as she dropped the letter back onto the table. "Lucas broke up with me."

"Really?" Maya questioned, somewhat shocked. "I thought you were solid."

Farkle sat there, not speaking a single word.

"Farkle," Riley said, looking at him. "Why aren't you reacting?" He looked to the side, out the window. "Did you know about this?" She stood right in front of him. He looked up at her from his seat.

"He told me he wasn't happy anymore, and realized he wasn't in love with you, but your potential," Farkle admitted. "He asked me not to tell you."

"You should have," she told him.

"I don't break promises, Riley," Farkle told his best friend. "What did the letter say, exactly?"

"He said that I strive to control things," she said. "And that I want everything to be perfect."

"You do it with good intention, Riley," he agreed with Lucas' words, "but you've always done that."

Riley sat down.

"He also said that I hate growth," Riley said, bracing herself, "that I cut Maya down for changing."

"You did," Maya confessed, sitting next to Riley. "You acted like me becoming better was a bad thing and that it meant I was you. You made me think I liked Huckleberry when I didn't. I've always liked Josh."

Riley looked down.

"You're not a bad person," Farkle said. "Like I said, you didn't do anything without good intentions behind them. You just didn't have the right mindset with this stuff."

"He also said that you guys grew up, but I didn't," Riley told them. "He said that Auggie even acts more mature than me at times, especially with love."

"Well, he's also wise beyond his years," Maya pointed out. "I think he may actually be a genius."

"Then he's even more of one than me," Farkle joked. All of them laughed a little. He looked at Riley. "It's not like you do these things on purpose, Riles." Maya gave him a look. "Can't I be an exception?"

Maya thought about it.

"Fine," she told him, "but only you."

"I don't let myself learn things, do I?" Riley questioned. "I protect myself too much. I should be letting myself grow."

"Yeah, you should," Farkle agreed. "Lucas is right; you have the potential to be more than what you let yourself be. You shouldn't stunt your growth."

"I support you and Lucas wherever you go for college after high school," Riley told Maya. "I was selfish to not want you to grow."

"I forgive you," she responded.

Riley stood up.

"I'll see you guys later," Riley told them.

She left Topanga's and went to Lucas' house. She knocked. He answered.

"Riley…"

"You were right about everything, Lucas," she told him. He just stared at her. "I'm sorry."

"You're not a bad person, Riley," Lucas assured her.

"I hope someday we can be together," she told him.

"I do too," he told her.

"I wish there was a way we could start over," she said. "Meet all over again as new people, and you could have helped me grow like we did with you."

He smiled.

"Hi, I'm Lucas," he said, extending his hand to her.

She smiled back to him.

"I'm Riley," she replied.

"I love it," he told her.
