Mara Stone was of Castlian descent and lived in the fortified town of Summer Hold. She had long, black hair and stood 5 ft 6 in. (170cm) tall. Mara often kept to herself and made few friends, but once she learned that she could cast water spells, she decided to use her powers for good.

Mara had just become an adult when she learned about her new powers. She was expertly trained in her physical fitness, but this type of magic was fairly new to her, so she sought training from a professional. Luckily, she found an answer when a tall, beautiful woman with long, dark blue hair approached her one morning on her errand.

"Excuse me," the lady asked, "but are you Mara Stone?"

"Yes," answered Mara. "May I help you?"

"My name is Abigail Water," the lady started, "and I have come from the Institute of Starter Wizards to deliver an invitation to you."

"Institute of Starter Wizards?" inquired a confused Mara. "I've never heard of such a school."

"We may not be the most popular," Abigail continued, "but we couldn't help but notice your potential for wanting to use your magic for good." She approached Mara with an envelope and handed it to her. "Should you choose to accept this invitation, we would be delighted to lend a hand to you."

Before Mara could say anything, Abigail quickly turned around and stated, "Well, I must be off now. I hope we meet again soon." She smiled and leaped over the castle wall that housed Summer Hold.

Mara was left confused and wondering about the unpopular wizard school, yet she proceeded to open the envelope. Inside the envelope was an invitation to the ISW's orientation with details on how to get to the campus site. The ISW was said to be located in an unspecified area on the southern border of Magius.

"This seems interesting," Mara said to herself as she read the invitation. "If what that 'Abigail' person said is true, then I may want to check it out." She put the invitation in her pocket and continued her daily errand. It wasn't until she got back home later that day when she searched for information about the ISW on her MagiSlab. She came across a database containing everything she wanted to know about the facility.

"Ah, no wonder they're not so popular," Mara commented as she read the database, "They started their business just a few years ago." She continued reading through the database, and her caution slowly turned into excitement.

"Maybe this is what I need after all!" she cheered with sparkling eyes and a huge smile. She proceeded to pack her luggage until she heard a knock on her bedroom door. It was her uncle Lloyd, who was a tall gentleman with short, black hair, like his late sister who died in battle several years after giving birth to Mara. Lloyd had returned from working at the fishery and brought home some ingredients to cook with.

"Is something wrong, Uncle Lloyd?" Mara asked as she opened the door.

"I just wanted to let you know that dinner's ready," answered Lloyd. He looked over Mara's shoulder and noticed her luggage sitting on her bed. "What's with the luggage?" he asked.

"I found out about this wizard school called the Institute of Starter Wizards today," Mara answered, "and I think this might be my golden ticket." She reached into her pocket and pulled out the invitation to show to her uncle.

"That's wonderful news!" Lloyd cheered. "Your parents would be so proud of you."

"Thank you, Uncle Lloyd," Mara said as she hugged her uncle and followed him downstairs to the dining area. They ate their dinner and exchanged stories about their day. When all was said and done, Mara marched back upstairs to resume her packing.

On the following weekend, Mara marched downstairs with her luggage, followed by her uncle.

"Well," Lloyd stated, "I wish the best of luck to you, Mara."

"Thank you, Uncle," Mara replied as she hugged him one last time. "I wish the best for you as well."

They both exchanged their goodbyes and went their separate ways. Mara turned around at the entrance to Summer Hold and waved goodbye before continuing onward. It wasn't long before she caught a boat heading west. She asked the sailors about the place on the invitation, and they agreed to take her there, as they were familiar with the area.

The boat stopped a few hours later, and Mara and the sailors began unloading. Mara thanked the sailors for their assistance and proceeded into the city. Before long, she stopped in front of a large gate that read, "Institute of Starter Wizards."

This must be the place, Mara thought before proceeding through the gate. She then found herself inside a building with a reception counter out front. "May I help you?" asked the man behind the counter.

"Ah, yes," answered Mara, "my name is Mara Stone, and I received an invitation to this place."

"Well, it's a pleasure to have you, Mara," the receptionist stated before pointing to a low table behind Mara. "Just sit in one of those chairs over there, and someone will come to assist you shortly."

Mara bowed to the receptionist and marched to the table with her luggage. Before long, she noticed a tall woman with long, dark blue hair approach her. It was Abigail Water.

"I had a feeling you'd show up," Abigail stated with a smirk.
