The wind howled coldly around the castle's stony walls up in the Blue Mountains.

The boy let out a quiet sigh as he started from his sleep.

"It's alright, you're not alone." A strange voice next to him. "I am Eskel. What's your name, newbie?"

The boy looked into dark eyes under smooth hair.

"I am Geralt. Where is mom? Where am I?"

"She is gone. You are in the witcher's fortress, Kaer Morhen. We're many boys here. You're not alone."

Eskel smoothed the small boy's soft locks back, they were about the same age.

Tiredly, Geralt lifted his head. He looked around, saw a few bobs of hair in the big bed they were cuddled up in.

He was not alone. That comforted him.

The wind howled coldly and the rain pattered on the swamps of Velen.

The man let out a quiet sigh as he started from his sleep.

A dream. A small, tiny dream of warmth and safety.

Alone, tucked in his waxed cape, hidden under his hood, he leaned against a tree. Roach huffed behind him.

Tiredly, Geralt lifted his head. He looked around, his yellow cat-like eyes scanned his surroundings.

He was alone. That comforted him.

Hello for the first of (hopefully) many times! This stories are not mine, they were written by the wonderful SilverFennek on and she allowed me to translate and post them for you. Ain't that great! There will be lots of fun, a bit of drama and fluff here and there, so - enjoy! I try to post regularly but I won't promise it. The shorter the chapters are, the sooner you'll get them
See you soon! Of course, I'll keep SilverFennek up to date about every comment that may come in!
