Gate 24B…..Gate 24B….Oh there it is!

"Papa, I found it..huh..HEY! GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF THAT FLIGHT ATTENDANT!"

MAKAAAA CHOP

"OWWWIEEE"

Maka smacked her father's head as he made yet another attempt to get in bed with the airline's assistants. The sun was beginning to set, sending a golden tone to the atmosphere from the airport's great windows. Maka sighed and told herself she would only have to put up with his nonsense for a few more minutes before she's gone for a year.

Just a few more minutes

"Sorry my precious little girl! My little Maka! So beautiful! So magical!" Her father praised her as he got down on his knees to bow to her. The people around the pair stared at the insane red head's antics while Maka merely rolled her eyes and pulled him up from his idioic begging.

"You're embarrassing me again. Look, the gate is right here so you can leave now,' Maka said as she grabbed her passport from his clutches. Her father, (Spirit Albarn), had insisted he'd carry his 'little princess' through the entire airport. While Maka thought this was incredibly stupid….she had let Spirit do as he pleased for the last few hours with her. She had put up with his insanity all her life...a little more won't do much harm.

"My little Maka, your flight isn't boarding yet. Can I stay and watch the plane's touchdown with you? Pleaseeeeeeee my darling! Papa's gonna miss you so much!" Spirit pleaded while wrapping his arms around her. Maka sighed and nodded.

Just a few more minutes….Then I'll be gone. A fresh start.

Maka had lived her entire life in one place and from an outsider's perspective, it looked as if she had a wonderful life. Both of her parents were successful in their fields and had their own traits that brought the family closer together. Her father was incredibly loving, (almost to a fault), and her mother was famously kind and patient. They were a model family! Well….they were until her mother left one day. Maka had no idea as to why….and it ate her up inside. She finished freshman year with barely passing grades as the depression of her missing mama killed Maka's soul. Kids at her school started to pick on her for being the kid who was 'abandoned'. Finally by the end of the year Maka worked up the courage to ask her dad if she could transfer schools. Spirit had suggested they could move to another district in the area, however Maka was not satisfied by his suggestion. She had to go further away, far enough so not one person would know her past, not one person could taunt her for having a mother that hated her so much...she ran away. It was sort of ironic..running away from someone else to ran away. But it was the kind of irony that made sense to pursue. After extensive research Maka had found the perfect boarding school. The DWM Academy, 'Student's futures are bright and their soul's are even brighter here', Maka loved the sound of that.

"Now Boarding seats C6 through C15"

Maka shook her head to bring her back to reality, "Hey Papa, that's my group, I've got to go."

Then..BOOM, instant tears.

"MAKAAAAA MY MAKAAAA I'LL MISS YOU SO MUCH PLEASE REMEMBER TO CALL," Spirit sobbed into Maka's daffodil jacket. She slowly peeled off of him and patted his head while the grown man sank to the floor.

"It's ok Papa, I'll be back," Much to my dismay, "Make sure to dust my books at home so they're nice for when I'm back!" Maka skipped away from Spirit to hand the gate worker her ticket and passport.

Now….it's just a few hours and I get my new start.
