Allison lived a comfortable life in Zuzu City. She has a good-paying job at JoJo company working in the financial department. She did some freelancing financial planning and analyst in her free time also for extra money and to fill her time. However, there was no love for her life, she didn't look forward to the future. She just lives one day to the next. I felt on autopilot most of the time. That was until today. She walked into work to see her boss and some executives waiting for her. They offered her a promotion to take over the finances for the region south of Zuzu City. When they went over the details and how they needed help with the store in Pelican City. It felt like a sack of brinks were smashing into her stomach. They wanted to take of this city and there were a few plots of land they wanted. What they didn't know but one of the plots belonged to her. A farm was left to her by her grandfather 15 years ago. She never did anything with it and knows it has been sitting there for years before his death when he was too ill to keep up with it. She had turned to sell back in college, but they could never find the deed so it was just a hassle to do all the paperwork to get it replaced, so she just postponed it and never did anything with it. She asked for some time to think over their proposal. She walked back to her cubicle and fished out the letter she kept on her from her grandfather. It was given to her by her father when she turned 18. The Instructions were to open it when she needed a change. honestly, that had been several times since she had it, but she never dared to open it. She peels it open and took a deep breath before letting her read on.

"If you're reading this, you must be in dire need of a change. The same thing happened to me, long ago. I'd lost sight of what mattered most in life... real connections with other people and nature. So I dropped everything and moved to the place I truly belong."

She laughed a little to herself. She had to be crazy to think that moving to Stardew Valley would be a good idea. Yea she understood a little about farming when she was a kid during the summer with her dad and when he would take her to the farm to see her grandpa. There was no way in hell she should take up the farm and be successful, right?

When Allison got home that night, she got started. The deed for the farm had been with the letter, she felt like an idiot she didn't think to look at the letter from her grandpa for the deed. She looked out the details of the land and what she could do. She created a 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year plan for it, including the budgeting for the seeds just for giggles. She had to prove to herself how nuts she would be to even think second about it. She went to work researching prices of seeds, taxes, and equipment needed to include. After hours of researching, she sat back in her chair and stared at her plan. With her saving, she could do it, she would not become rich, and she would be taking a major pay cut. If she stuck with this exact plan, she would be able to break even after 5 years. She knew she had some money her dad had in saving from grandpa's life insurance. It had been weird by grandpa, who left everything down to the cent to her instead of his son. It never had made sense to her, but her father just struggled it off commenting like "he loved you more because what is not to love about his adorable love bug." He was a doting father through and through. She used a lot of it as her living expenses through college. She didn't want to take any money from either of her parents, so she used that instead.

Allison hated change and not being in control, this was crazy of her to even consider this. But she found herself leaping before she could talk some sense into herself. It was the weirdest feeling like the universe was pulling her toward it. She emailed Lewis Sinclaire, the mayor to let him know of my move there on January 1st. She wasn't sure if that was needed but thought it would be nice to tell someone. Next, I emailed my landlord with my 60 days' notice and typed up her notice for work. I went down the list of everything she needed to do and set it in motion. By the time she regretted it, it was too late.

The next month and a half flew by. She packed everything she was taking with her, shipping and donating. Her father was supportive of her as always. He just chuckled on the phone when she told him. She could hear the smiling in his voice. "Just remember to roll with the punches, love bug. Things may not go to your plan but I'm here for you. I will be proud of you no matter what happens." Dad loved that farm. "something tells me you will find your destiny there. Plus it had the most beautiful beach. I just expect you ready a spare bedroom for me when I come to visit."

Allison was relieved at this. If her dad had told her she was crazy, she would have stopped all of the plans and dropped the idea without a second thought. She never knew he never would. Her mom didn't take the news so well at all. "Are you being serious?" After a long silence after Allison's answer. "I just think of it as a nature retreat. I don't think it best for a young single woman to be out in the rural area by herself. It's not ladylike. Just don't touch the farm or talk to strangers but just recenter yourself so you can come back refreshed with your priorities straight. You and Wyatt are supposed to take over the business together. I'm getting too old to keep handling everything by myself since you wanted to gain work experience with the viral company."

Allison just bares with the whole conversation, annoyed as hell. This was her mother being nice. The conversation ended more awkward than Allison wanted but things were always like this when she tried having a real conversation with her mom. It always came back to fucking Wyatt and that damn fucking company that she wanted nothing to do with either.

January 1st came around. She left her apartment at 3 am to make it to the bus station for her early trip. Her apartment was all but empty except her 2 suitcases and backpack. The rest was already ship and will arrive there that evening. "You will make this work and will not have any regrets." She whispered to herself before shutting the door and headed to her new life.
