Dear Friends, family, relatives.

I am going about something that may upset those. I'm going to travel the world. But, not the way you would want me to. As Freedom gets harder and harder to find, I find myself wanting to explore the Earth, before it's lost forever to the evil people of this planet. I will most likely never see you all in person again. I will be online for all to see, you shan't not worry. Mom. Dad. I'm sorry a real job never descended upon me. I'm sorry I haven't felt my passion yet. I love you both so much. As for everyone else, please take care, and remember... I love all of you.

W.M.

The boat had a foul stench, reeking of oil, hot metal, and hot air. It was sunny, the sun beating down on the ship.

It was a cargo ship, hauling shipping containers and wooden boxes of food, materials, and trade stock.

She was hiding in one of the empty metal containers, its contents waiting at the destination it was heading.

The heat made her sweat trickle down her forehead, and her shirt stuck to her body. She was sitting, back leaned up against the back doors, which were sealed shut for the time. She felt miserable. Half of her water bottle already empty, and running low on food, the girl was less optimistic than when she snuck onto this ship. She raised her arm, as if the sun was shining directly on her face. Her dark brown eyes squinted, possibly trying to capture the outside from a single sliver of light that came through the front doors. she wiped the sweat with her arm, and sunk down. Next to her, her brown backpack lay open, with the said contents shoved inside. she reached her right arm over to grab something out of the backpack.

She pulled out a magenta- cased phone, and stared at it. She had not turned it on for quite some time now, and she wondered what could possibly be happening behind that black screen. She sighed heavily, blowing away the thought of watching videos on it, and pressed a button on its left side.

The bright screen flashed on, making the girl grimace with an unpleasant eyes slowly adjusted, and she stared at it.

June 15, 2021

3:45 P.M.

The girl sighed again. The boat wasn't supposed to arrive at the dock for another 6 hours. She turned off the phone and layed it against her chest.

Her eyes started to blink slower, as she stared at the front doors. Soon, she felt her eyes close, and off again she fell into dreamland.

Hours later, she awoke to the sound of busy workmen outside the container. Her eyes quickly blinked open, aware of her surroundings.

Dirty boat, dirty container, a plan.

She looked down at her chest, and noticed her phone still residing between her hand and her chest. She slowly stood up the phone to read the time.

10:00.

She swiftly sat up, now fully awake. They should be at the docks by now. Quickly, the stood, and grabbed her backpack, placing her phone inside. before closing it, she grabbed a small black scarf, and held it in her mouth as she zipped up the backpack.

There was now no light coming through the front doors now, only the faint glow of the docks.

She slung her backpack over her shoulders, and tied the scarf around her mouth.

She suddenly herd shouts from a workman outside and something grabbing the top of the container. The container started to rise off the boat, making the girl tumble onto the floor. She dared not made any noise however, as being caught would result in disaster.

She felt the container touch ground, and glanced up at the front.

Soon, she herd the lock fall to the ground with a thump.

Now her mind was panicking, freaking out. just outside this container, was a workman that would catch her.

She held her breath, eyes wide, not veering from what lay in front of her.

Then, silence. Nothing.

She slowly exhaled quietly. It seemed the workman had not bothered to check inside the container.

And based on the info she had gotten, not another person would touch this container until tomorrow.

She pushed her hair back with her hand, and made her way towards the doors.

She placed one hand on the left door. then the other.

Slowly, and quietly, she cracked open the door.

Outside, she could see the docks were not too busy that night. Workman walked around, checking inventory, and getting packages ready to be transported, whether it was around the country, or to another country off the ocean. No one was paying attention to the container that was her home for several days. She glanced left, then right. Ahead of her, she could see a dark, abandoned dock house. That was her best bet to get out of here, and possibly to a town. She inhaled, and opened the door a little more, eyes down to the ground.

She was racked with anxiety. She hadn't done anything like this before, only when she snuck onto the boat in the first place. She gulped and glanced up.

'Just get there.'

Her legs started moving, and before she knew it, she was sprinting to the abandoned shack.

It seemed about 500 yards away, and she prayed that no one would take notice.

"Ay! Vous y! ArrĂȘter!"

Fear rose up in the girl. The worker had not seen her exit the container, but she was still trespassing. Her legs picked up speed, and carried her farther. She could feel the man chasing after her. She ran, and ran. She ran past the shack, and kept going. She was running for more than a solid 30 minutes.

Finally, her feet slowed, and her breaths were heavy and tiresome. Her knees bent, and she placed her hands on her thighs, breathing hard. She glanced back over her shoulder. The man was certainly not following her anymore.

As her breathing slowed, she glanced forward. She could see a small town in the distance, and a small forest near it.

She exhaled with relief, and glanced down at the ground.

She made it.

A smile formed on her lips, and she reached her hands to the sky in victory, her head looking up.

"I made it!"

No one was near to hear the shout so she was safe. She readjusted her backpack and looked at the forest.

'I'll sleep in the forest tonight, and regroup with myself in town tomorrow.'

The smile plastered into her face was stuck for the time being.

The forest was dark, and quiet. It was a chilly night, but she didn't care. as long as she kept moving, the less cold she would be. Her feet walked across what felt like rock, and a steep incline rose up in front of her. slowly, she walked up the hill, until coming to a small patch of trees. on the outside of the trees, was a clearing. It swayed with what little wind there was that night. She took a liking to two trees in particular.

'This looks like a good place to set up.'

She tossed her backpack in front of her, and opened it, digging for something. She took out a hammock, and a sleeping bag. She would have set up her tent if it was freezing, but tonight she just wanted to relax, and sway with the trees.

She set up her sleeping hammock between two trees, and took a step back. She was proud. She placed her backpack next to the hammock, and bent down to look inside for any remaining food.

When she found some crackers, she resisted the urge to gorge, and ate only a few.

Soon after, she laid down in the hammock, inside the sleeping bag.

She stared up at the stars. Twinkling, colorful, stars.

"How the night shines bright as people sleep. Bringing on peace that makes the sky less bark, bringing the world back.. to reality."

Now this is something I've been meaning to make! Don't worry, we'll get to some Thomas characters soon, i'm just setting up the prologue of sorts. Chapters will be longer as the story goes on(hopefully maybe maybe not). I hope you all enjoy this! Also, i'm going to be putting a song recommendation at the end of any chapter i post for now. Write you later!

Today's song: 4everfreebrony- Thought I'd Let You Know

(Don't stray just because he's a brony; the song is actually pretty sad and really good)
