It Looks Like We're Gonna Get Along

Summary: Trina and Spencer discuss Josslyn and Esme. Cam and Josslyn have their dinner. Sequel to Looking Crazy, Looking Wrong . Title of this fic and the first fic in this series come from the song, "Pretty Little Psycho" by Porcelain Black.

Trina opened the door before Spencer had even finished knocking and tugged him inside the room. "Come on." She said, shoving him into a desk chair before she took a seat on her bed, fingers digging into the pale green bed spread. "Did you know that your girlfriend came to visit Josslyn?" She didn't mean to make the question sound like an accusation but she found that she couldn't help it.

Spencer's dark eyes widened in shock and he shook his head. "Trina, god, no. Of course I didn't have a clue. It's not as if she tells me everything. What did she want?"

"Hell if I know!" Trina cried out, throwing her arms up in the air. I just came back from the gallery to see Esme standing way too close to Joss. She seemed pissed that I showed up and then left after promising to see Josslyn again. Joss said that Esme tried to get in her head and make her doubt me. And that she seemed pleased after she was told off. It had Josslyn pretty spooked. I tried to get her to postpone her date with Cam but she didn't want to. Look," She said with a sigh, "I know you'd never let Josslyn get hurt on purpose. You aren't a bad person at all. But you brought Esme into all of our lives. You told her a lot about Joss especially. That makes some of this your responsibility."

He shifted his feet guiltily. "I know." He answered quietly. "I know that I messed up. What am I supposed to do, though?"

The girl across from him shook her head. "Dump her, stand up to her! Let her know that you aren't going to put up with all of this. We just have to do something." She told him fiercely.

Spencer swallowed the lump in his throat and wondered if he should tell his crush the whole truth. He wanted to so badly and he knew that he should. There was that fear of losing Trina, though. Of her realizing what an awful person he was and writing him off completely. He was lucky that she hadn't already.

Trina's eyes narrowed suspiciously as she noticed the look on Spencer's face. "Spencer, what are you hiding?"

His eyes lifted to meet hers and he spoke. "When I was in boarding school, I confided in Esme about all of my hurt and anger toward my father. From his making me believe he was dead for over three years, to his choosing Ava and money over me. She began to talk to me a lot about how much I deserved better. That I should show them how I felt." Spencer saw the realization in Trina's eyes.

"So you really were Ava's stalker." She whispered, bringing her knees up, wrapping her arms around them to prevent herself from lashing out. She rested her chin on her knees.

Spencer nodded, feeling ashamed. "Yeah. Esme encouraged all of that hurt and anger. I guess you could say that she watered it like a flower. I'm not making excuses for myself. I could've stopped it, but it felt...nice having someone on my side. I put the paint in the water sprinklers at the gallery. Stupid stuff like that. I found out awhile back that Esme was the one who set the fire to Ava's car and left Kiki's ID card out there. I hated myself for defending her and making you feel bad. But she was in my head, telling me that this could ruin things between my father and I if he knew all I'd done. And how you'd hate me if you knew the truth. I was selfish and wrong and now Esme has latched onto Josslyn like a parasite!" He shouted the last word, his hands reaching up to grip his hair, tugging it hard. "Dammit!" He cursed, knocking over the chair he'd been sitting in as he stood up abruptly.

"Woah!" Trina gasped, jumping to her feet and touching his shoulder gently. "You need to calm down."

He shook his head negatively then and let his hands fall to the desk, gripping the edges. "You don't get it, Trina." He uttered. "I told Esme about my life in Port Charles and the people I knew, but she was always especially interested in Joss. I found it weird but I always shrugged it off. I never should've."

Trina's brows were furrowed in confusion. "What is it that Esme is up to?"

Spencer gave a bitter laugh. "Nothing good, believe me. I mean, Joss has a psycho obsessed her and I brought that psycho into her life!"

"Are you okay?" Cam asked, the smile falling from his lips as Josslyn walked up to him, looking spooked. She didn't respond for a few moments which just worried him more. "Joss?" He reached out and took her hand, squeezing it warmly.

She shook herself out of her reverie and gave him a smile. "Sorry about that!" She said, leaning in to press her lips to his gently, her hand stroking down his cheek as she pulled back. "I guess I'm more tired than I thought."

He frowned at that, concerned and gently tucked some of her soft blonde hair behind her ear. "You know, I wouldn't mind if we postponed dinner until tomorrow or sometime this week." He suggested. "Your wellbeing is more important than one date."

Josslyn gave a grin. "And that's one of the many reasons I adore you, Cameron Webber. But believe me, the last thing I want to do is skip out on our date. I've been looking forward to this." She reassured, kissing him once more, this time deeper, wanting to forget the entire reason why she was so out of it. She didn't want to think of Esme and what the girl was up to. She just wanted to enjoy herself. She wasn't going to allow her to get into her head the way she so wanted.

Esme walked into the clinic with a pep in her step, walking purposefully over to the very man she sought out. She held back a smirk at the look Harmony was throwing her until the woman had walked off to help another patient. "God, she sure seems annoying." She said casually, crossing one long, pale leg over the other. "She really doesn't seem to like me much." She giggled at that, her eyes glinting. "You know, I feel like we have a lot in common. I've heard about your love women like Felicia Jones or Ava Jerome. I think I've met my own. Actually, I know I have. You've probably heard of her. I think most of the town has, with her former stepfather being who he is and her new one being a mob enforcer and all." Her voice was a low whisper so no one would overhear. She almost thought she saw a flicker of something in the man's eye and it made her grin a little. "I haven't won her over yet, but I don't really want to. I love the side of her I bring out. It's not one she usually shows." Her hands reached out to cover Ryan's legs with the blanket. "Maybe if you get better, you can show me your ways."

She didn't notice that Harmony was behind her, hiding in a corner with Alexis, both of them watching the scene before them with eyes full of suspicion but even if she had, she wouldn't care. They had no proof that she was up to something and she could easily play the part of this innocent person who just wanted to volunteer to help out the patients at the clinic. After all, lies and manipulation were something she so excelled at.
