It's been a while, since I wrote anything about Yondu and Peter and I think I am a little bit rusty when it comes to this.
But here I am now.

That was just a spontaneous, little idea, so please don't expect much from this.

I just needed to write this down.
I'm going through an extremely difficult time right now and stories like this help me through this a tiny bit.
I hope I can make some of you smile with this also.

For more stories like this, please check out my profile.
You can find a lot of these stories there ;)

I hope you like it and I am so sorry for grammer/spelling mistakes; english isn't my first language.
I had to translate this from german into english and I hope it isn't too bad.

And I would appreciate feedback in the form of a comment very much.
Not only is feedback very motivating, but it also shows me that my story gets read and is not ignored.
If I get the feeling my story gets ignored, I won't update it, for I see no reason to do so then.
So please don't be shy and share your thoughts with me. I won't bite you.

Hide and seek?
More like hide and shriek!

Why?

Why in the name of the universe had he let himself be persuaded to do something like this?

Since this human child lived on his ship, he generally did things that he would never have done before...like fooling around like a little kid. Of course, only when there was no one else around to watch him do it.

Just the imagination of what would happen if his crew saw him like this...The mutiny was almost palpable if he only thought about this!

Fortunately, none of his crew members could read minds and Yondu was more than grateful for that, because he could fool around with Peter in his free time and still be the Ravager captain that everyone feared.

But right now, at this very moment, Yondu was everything, but certainly not a dreaded space pirate.

On the contrary: he was standing in a dark corridor and no longer knew where to look.

No less than half an hour ago, Peter had actually managed to persuade him to play another silly game that the boy had often played with his mother on earth and which was called "hide and seek".

At first, Yondu hadn't thought anything of it, because he knew his ship inside out and was sure that he would find the boy quickly, but now he was standing a few corridors from his quarters and he just didn't know what to do next.

He had already searched his quarters and Peter's, but he just couldn't find the boy. Fortunately, his crew was otherwise busy on the bridge, or they were in their rooms or down in the engine room, doing their work there. So he could at least play this stupid game undisturbed and he would be lying if he said now that it wasn't a little fun for him.

But right now, instead of fun, he felt more despair, because he just couldn't find Peter; no matter where he looked. The boy was as if swallowed by the ground.

They had arranged, that Peter stayed close to his or Yondu's room in order not to run the risk of running into one of the other Ravagers, because they weren't as loving to him as Yondu was. Kraglin was also absent, along with a few others, since Yondu had sent them on a scouting trip a few hours ago to scout out one of the smaller planets that was not far from them. So it wouldn't be an advantage if Peter ran into one of the Ravagers that were still present.

Or Yondu himself, because he was already grinding his teeth.

The boy didn't seem to obey the rules, otherwise he would almost certainly have found him a long time ago. But he didn't and slowly he became desperate and he also began to worry about him.

"Peter? Where the hell are ya?"

Of course there was no answer. Yondu hadn't expected anything else, but it was worth a try, right?

"Come on, kid. This ain't funny anymore. Come out!"

Still no answer and Yondu stopped and listened into the dark corridor. But he heard nothing but his own heartbeat, which thundered in his ears.

Or...wasn't there a little noise behind him?

He listened again, and indeed. There was something there and not very far from him. It came from near his quarters and he grinned slightly, when he heard a faint giggle and then footsteps that disappeared into his quarters.

The boy was teasing him. But he could do the sameā€¦

"Ohhhh Petey~. Come out, come out, wherever you are~ ", he said in a singsong voice, when the relief grabbed him and when the worry fell away from him as well. The boy had stuck to his rules after all and didn't go too far, but still...he kept getting away from him. That was actually against the rules and Yondu already knew exactly what the punishment for that would be...

He chuckled and his feet slowly moved into the direction of his quarters and when he entered the slightly dim room, he also closed the door behind him and locked it, to prevent Peter from fleeing, because he knew him well enough to know that otherwise he would slip away again.

And he definitely wanted to prevent that.

He stopped right at the door and let his red eyes wander through his quarters and listened, but he didn't hear anything that would reveal Peter, but he knew that he was hiding somewhere. But it wouldn't be easy to find him, as there were many different hiding places where the boy could hide from him.

"Let's see how long ya can hide from me, boy. I will find ya. I have always done that and I will do it again today and I can promise ya one thing: When I have found ya, it will have consequences for ya."

Everyone would have been afraid of such sinister words, had they not come from Yondu's lips with a grin and a lot of cheerfulness and in fact, he heard another very low giggle, not far from him, which betrayed Peter.

The boy should really look for a better hiding place and not always choose the same one.

Well, that would make it easier for Yondu to grab him...

The grin on the pirate's lips widened and slowly he crept up to his bed, from where he had heard the giggle. Slowly he sat down on it and sighed loudly and theatrically.

"All right, all right, I think I'll give up. I can't find ya," he said, trying to make his voice sound as serious as possible. Again he listened and he thought he could hear a body moving slightly under his bed and tried to crawl out from under it. Apparently the boy suspected something and tried to flee and look for a new hiding place, but Yondu had completely different plans for him and grinning, he just reached under the bed and a little later, Peter's surprised scream cut through the quarters, when Yondu grabbed his feet and pulled him out from under the bed.

"Gotcha, ya cheeky, little brat!" he said, laughing, as he tried to tame this wriggling kid and in the end, he just threw him onto his bed.

"Not fair! Not fair!" the boy squeaked, as he tried to crawl off the bed, but Yondu was faster than him, grabbed his ankles again and pulled him back to him.

"What's not fair?" he asked with a lot of cheerfulness in his voice, as he rolled Peter onto his back and tried to grab his wrists, but the child hit at him like mad. Not as much as to hurt him, of course. It was still all fun and Yondu knew that Peter loved to mess around with him a little and he wasn't necessarily averse to it as long as no one else noticed.

"You said you were giving up, so I won!"

"Ohhh, Petey, Petey, Petey, ya still have a lot to learn about us pirates. We never play fair, my boy and we always win! Here, let me show ya what I mean."

And with these words, the leader of the Ravagers "attacked" the boy like a hungry predator, who squealed in surprise and got no chance to defend himself or to protect himself, when blue fingers tickled his sides and made him laugh loudly and cheerfully.

Desperately Peter tried to push his fingers away from his body, but they were like glued to his ticklish spots and didn't let go, but tickled up and down, until he rolled over the bed, laughing and squeaking. Yondu was following him, also laughing loudly, and he never stopped tickling him.

"Yondu! Yondu, no! Stop! Stop!" the boy squealed, laughing and, desperately, kicking at him with his legs, who, however, evaded every attack and mercilessly kept tickling him.

"Oh, no, no, no, Petey. I'm teaching ya a lesson right now and it's called: Never make the same mistake twice. Next time ya should look for a new hiding place if ya don't want something like this to happen ever again. Now, let's just play another game. How about we name this new game "Hide and shriek"?" he asked, grinning down at this laughing, squealing mess that was Peter.

"Sounds like a good plan, doesn't it?" he asked, but he never gave Peter a chance to answer, when he grabbed his wrists with one of his own hands, pushing his shirt up with the other hand, to bend his head down and blow a loud raspberry into his belly, indeed making the kid shriek with mirth.

And Yondu was sure that Peter wouldn't forget this lesson anytime soon...
