Hello peeps.

So I discovered the Trails series not so long ago and I'm absolutely in love with it. And, like the summary said, I was literally going crazy over the fact that there are so few ReanxLaura fanfics that there are for this game so I decided to write my own. You see, in my humble opinion, Laura is objectively best girl and whoever says otherwise is factually wrong (this is a joke btw please don't murder me

There is also not going to be a set schedule for this fanfic, I will just write and publish whenever I am able to.

Now, if there is anyone here who reads my other fanfic then don't worry, I'm not dropping it. I never will, period.

Another thing I would like to mention is that I have very little experience writing, so if you guys feel like there's something wrong with my writing or something I could do to improve it please do not hesitate to tell me, I am always looking for ways to improve my writing.

One last thing, I know the title sucks, I'm just so ridiculously bad at naming things, so if anyone can come up with a nice title please tell me. :)

Now that that's out of the way, I truly hope you enjoy this fanfic.

Disclaimer: I do not own The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel.

It was quite a long triple musing, a young man leaned into his seat. His home was several hours away by train, he had to wake up in the early morning to be able to take the train that would arrive in time, but he was used to waking up early. Although he didn't feel too good about making his family wake up at around the same time to see him off.

The Ministry of Railways wishes to thank all passengers for their patronage. This train is bound for Bareahard vía Celdic. The next stop is...Trista. Trista.

A voice which resounded throughout the train interrupted the young man's musings.

I guess that's where I leave the train. He thought, and waited until the train stopped in the station. When it did, he got up from his seat and started walking through the train car for the exit.

Man, Spring's really in full bloom here, huh? He thought as he left the train station. Back home there was still so much snow on the ground...I hardly even realized it.

While on the train he spotted many students wearing a green uniform, which represented their common origin, but only a handful of people wearing a red uniform like him. He wondered what the red meant, as the student guidebook did not mention anything about it. But he assumed he would hear more about it in the entrance ceremony.

Are those...Lino flowers? I've never seen so many of them in one place. The young man wondered as he admired a sight he didn't see in his hometown.

Thors Military Academy...I'll be spending the next two years here...I wonder when I will start thinking of it as home. He wondered as he recalled his mother's sad face seeing him depart for so long, and his father's proud expression at him being admitted into such a prestigious academy.

But… I think I'm going to like it. He thought with anticipation of the years ahead.

It was in his absentmindedness that he felt someone crashing into his back. When he turned around he saw a blonde girl sprawled on the ground, she was wearing the same red uniform as him.

"Whoa, sorry about that. Are you okay?" The young man apologized. "I should've picked a better place to take in the scenery."

"Don't worry about it, I should've been paying more attention to where i was going instead of gawking at the flowers." Replied the blonde girl. "It really is a pretty town, isn't it? Just like a postcard."

"Yeah, that's the magic of springtime for you. I'm Rean Schwarzer by the way, I hope everything in your case is okay." Replied Rean."

"I'm Alisa…R. And don't worry about it, it's okay." Alisa replied, Rean could see the complicated emotion in her eyes.

"...Hey, you've got the red uniform too, huh?" But her expression returned to normal quickly, Rean decided not to dwell on it.

"Yeah. But I have only seen a handful of people wearing red uniforms. Most of the students in the train were wearing green uniforms."

"Yeah, like you said, there've been a few others sporting the red uniforms, so i doubt it's a mistake. Maybe it means we'll end up being classmates." Alisa laughed cheerfully after she said this. "Anyway, I should get going. I've got a feeling we'll see each other at the entrance ceremony though!"

After which she walked away to the academy.

She is right though, It is weird that there are so few of us in red. Are there even enough to make a class? Rean quietly wondered. That orbment they sent with the uniform is pretty strange too. It sure looks fancier than your standard issue orbment, that's for sure.

However he soon pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind. Rean figured someone would probably explain it during orientation.

Thors Military Academy is on the north side of town. He thought. I've still got some time to look around before the entrance ceremony, but it'd be pretty awkward to be late the first day.

He then started making his way around town. When he was arriving at the academy, however, he spotted an elderly man dressed like a butler handing a case to a girl with long, blue hair.

"I shall take my leave here, my lady, I pray you find victory here in both your studies and your training." The butler said respectfully after handing the case to the girl.

"Thank you, Klaus." Replied the girl. "I shall leave everything in your hands while father is away."

After which she walked away, then the butler named Klaus turned to Rean.

"Oh! Please excuse my rudeness, young sir." He addressed Rean. "It truly is a splendid day, is it not. The start of a new chapter in the lives of so many promising youths! Allow me to express my sincerest congratulations in your admittance into this fine academic institution."

"Thank you very much, sir." Rean replied. After that Klaus walked off.

Who was she? Rean thought. The way she carried herself tells me her origin isn't ordinary. And she seemed rather familiar too.

After pushing those thoughts to tye back of his mind, he continued on his way to the academy.

Thors Military Academy. Rean wondered. Founded by the legendary Emperor Dreichels himself…It certainly looks the part of a prestigious military academy.

His thoughts were cut short, however, when he heard the loud honk of a luxurious looking orbal car. When it stopped, another man dressed like a butler came out of the driver's seat and proceeded to head to the rear right door and opened it, then a blonde young man came out of the car holding an orange case.

"Thank you for your patience, sir. We've arrived at the academy." The butler bowed.

"Much obliged." Was the rather indifferent response of the blonde young man.

"Please, sir. If you would allow me to carry your luggage."

"That won't be necessary, I'd prefer to avoid standing out too much." Replied the young man.

"B-but, sir…"

However, the butler's anxious reply was interrupted by the young man who now sounded rather annoyed.

"This is not open for debate." He commanded. "Take whatever rest you need, and return to Bareahard."

"...as you wish. I shall be departing then, sir." The butler said. "May your time spent in these hallowed halls be all you've hoped for. Please, take care of yourself."

To which the young man nodded and walked away.

Wow, an orbal limousine. Rean marvelled. And one of Reinford's fanciest models, too. Looks like even Erebonia's upper crust send their children here.

After this, he continued on his way to the school auditorium for the entrance ceremony. It was then that the voice of a young girl sounded behind him.

"Welcome to Thors Military Academy." The owner of the voice revealed itself to be a petite girl with brown hair and there was also a chubby boy wearing yellow clothes at her side. "You're...let's see...yes, you're the last of them! That would make you Rean Schwarzer, right?"

"Uh…" Rean answered nervously. "Yes, that's me. It's a pleasure to meet you. But…how do you know me?"

"Heehee...it's a long story." Replied the petite girl cheerfully. "Don't sweat the details right now."

Her reply greatly confused Rean, but before he could ask any questions the chubby boy intervened.

"Is that your weapon you've got wrapped up? I'll need to hold onto that for the time being."

"Oh right. The guidebook did mention something like that." Rean said while he handed over his weapon to the chubby boy.

"Thanks." He replied. "We should be able to return it before long. You'll hardly even miss it."

"The entrance ceremony will be held in the auditorium." The petite girl interjected. "Just head straight back, you can't miss it. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your first day at Thors!"

"We're glad to have you. I hope these next two years will be a fruitful time for you." Said the chubby boy with a smile."

After which Rean started walking to the auditorium. However, he stopped not long after and figured out those two are second years.

That girl definitely looked younger than me. He marveled with shock. And what was that about me being the last? I'm not seriously the last student to check in, am I?

His thoughts were cut short however, by the sound of a bell ringing throughout the academy.

Sounds like it's about time for the ceremony to start, though. Well…here's to the start of a great two years. Rean thought as he headed to the auditorium.
