Prologue

Run- she needed to run.

Her feet pounded against the ground as she fled, running as fast as she could force her legs to go. Her right foot was missing her shoe, but she never slowed whenever she passed over another, another, and another sharp rock. Her heart pounded loudly in her ears, panicked breaths falling from bloodied lips as she buried the instinct she felt screaming at her to cry, to scream, to do anything to let the panic she felt have a voice.

She didn't understand. Why was this happening? Where was she running? She couldn't even use her senses to try and figure out her location, she was too drained- too exhausted.

Her vision blurred, and no matter how hard she fought, she couldn't keep her tears at bay. They cascaded down her flushed and bloodied cheeks in violent streaks as she kept running. A malicious cackling rumbled in the distance, and she realized with sharp, painful breaths that she was slowly losing stamina. Her legs felt like jelly, and each step she took felt like it'd be her last. That she'd just fall down and give in.

The figure she fled from abruptly landed in front of her, and she wasn't able to stop herself before she collided with him, her head knocking against the sturdy armor he had against his chest. The sharp points of it dug into her already bruised and bloodied flesh, and she stumbled back as if she was in a daze.

"That was fun, but all fun must come to an end eventually, little bird."

Fear danced in her sapphire eyes as she stumbled back, or tried to. He latched onto her injured wrist with a painfully tight grip, bringing a fresh surge of tears to her eyes.

"It hurts!" Her cry of pain only furthered his enjoyment, and he gripped tighter, the already damaged bones in her wrist cracking even more. He'd already injured it when he crushed her bow into dozens of little splintered pieces of wood. He laughed and forced her closer to him with his unrelenting grip on her wrist, a hint of sadistic pleasure dancing in crimson iris'.

Without waiting, he shot his other hand out and clamped it tightly around her throat, laughing in an almost maniacal way as he lifted her from the ground so her toes just barely scraped the grass below.

"Oh, has the little bird finally lost all her fight?" he taunted when she seemed to do nothing more than kick almost pathetically at him. A hint of taunting pity brushed against her ears, tearful blue eyes staring into red that seemed to be almost obsessive. "What a shame… I thought picking off your packmates one by one would light the fire in you, but all it seemed to do was weaken it. You're pathetic, especially for a Miko." He tightened his grip, eyes narrowing as he gazed at the face he both hated and loved. "Now die and join the rest of your foolish friends already!"

She felt her head go fuzzy as her ability to breathe was stolen from her. Her eyes fluttered a few times, and she knew that she had no other option.

Her body screamed out in agony as she moved her free wrist, forcing her palm up against his chest as she called forward every bit of spiritual energy she still had inside her. It wasn't a lot, but maybe…

A pink glow encased her hand as she shoved it firmly against his chest, a choked scream ripping from her bruising throat as she forced every bit of her energy into his body. His howl of pain and suffering echoed in her ears as she was dropped suddenly to the ground. She sobbed, moving both of her hands even through the pain, as she covered her ears, trying so hard to force the sound far from her mind.

She couldn't- s-she couldn't get it to stop lingering there!

Exhaustion quickly consumed her, her eyes fluttering shut as she watched through tearful vision as the ash that had once been Naraku drifted away in the wind.

She had done that.

It didn't make her feel any better.

Her vision ran black as her weight tipped to the side, and her broken, bruised, and bloodied body landed curled up on the ground.

It was early in the morning with the ravenette abruptly shot up from her bed, almost as if she'd just gotten electrocuted. Her breaths came in harsh pants, sweat dampening her brow as she tightened trembling fists into the plush, pink blankets on her bed. A few slow seconds passed, and she steadily unfurled her fists from the blankets, moving them carefully to her head. She buried her fingers into her sleep-mussed hair, her palms covering her eyes as tears slowly began to brim within them.

She wanted to cry and wail, but she kept it all buried inside, repressed and safe away from anyone who might be able to hear and or see her falling apart. She bit her lip to the point she tasted blood, but she still didn't let her teeth let go. She swallowed her sobs as she shook her head, trying to pull her emotions back under control.

"W-Why…?" she sobbed as quietly as she could. She didn't understand!

Why? Why hadn't she been able to do something like that sooner? Why hadn't she saved her friends?

Those thoughts bounded through her head as more tears kept coming, her body shaking as she fell apart out of her control.

She failed them. They needed her to do something like that, and she failed them! They all did everything they could to protect her, standing strong, only to be taken down one right after another. She'd been so helpless through it all! If she'd just done something like that sooner, then… then maybe they would've survived.

When she finally woke up, she was back in her rightful time, passed out at the bottom of the well with the Shikon no Tama still around her neck.

A small nose prodded against her chin, and Kagome slowly pulled her hands away from her face as she searched for the source. Her gaze landed on Kirara standing perched on her drawn-up legs with worry shining in her eyes.

"Mew!" She lifted a paw and tapped it to her cheek, and a small smile lifted her lips as she held her hands in a position for her to jump in them. She did without waiting, nuzzling up to her as she seemed to try and comfort her.

Two weeks after she returned home she'd finally healed entirely. Her spiritual energy had returned finally, and she was abruptly startled out of her sleep when a familiar aura brushed against her newly reawakened senses.

The stoic demon lord from the past stood at the front door as she opened it, golden eyes gazing down at her. The surprise must've been painfully evident on her face, but he didn't make a move to comment on it, thankfully.

In tow with him was the deceased slayer's faithful companion.

She hadn't been able to contain her tears as Kirara barreled at her in her large form, nuzzling up to her and licking at her cheek affectionately. She crumbled instantly, a wide range of emotions coursing through her all at once. It was too much.

Relief from seeing familiar faces alive and well, as well as all her pain from two weeks ago.

It was her mother's encouragement that pushed her to apply for U.A. and she'd gotten in quite easily. As the first day of class steadily drew closer and closer, she felt a bit of apprehension.

Those memories still lurked so close in her head. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't push them away.

"Kagome?"

In response to her mother's voice on the other side of her door, Kagome sat up a bit straighter, blinking owlishly as she stumbled out a response. "I-I'm up!"

"You'll be late if you don't hurry up," she commented softly. Kagome could hear the faint worried tone lurking in her voice, but she refused to make a comment on it. She glanced down at her lap and nodded slowly.

"Okay."

She finally pushed herself up as she said that word, moving to her closet and quickly changing out of her pajamas and into her uniform. She looked at her reflection in the mirror, blue eyes catching the identical ones looking back at her.

Moving on wasn't an option. It was a necessity at this point.

Auroua-chan: Kagome will be using the name Higurashi, and it's a gamble how and when the rest of her class finds out that she's Aizawa's daughter.

The pairing is set, but there will be mild shipping hints on the side.

Kagome's Quirk/s is a secret for now, but she's also been able to master her spiritual abilities in the time between her time-hopping and the start of school. She's able to do quite a bit, and it'll be revealed as the story progresses. It's also likely her abilities will have some sort of effect on her Quirk/s. Sesshoumaru will appear more, as well.
When it gets to the point where Eri is introduced, she'll be so protective of her.

Anyway, that's it for now. Thank you all for reading, and I hope you all enjoyed! Hopefully I caught all the errors before posting, but if not sorry.

Bye for now~
