Here is a Christmas story I've been working on. I was going to wait until November to put it out but decided to do so now instead

Chapter 1: Running Away

Nessie's POV

I can't believe him! I couldn't remember the last time I'd been so furious about anything. I hated that my father was always trying to control my life. But this? Well this was the last straw! I felt my blood boil as I remembered the conversation I had with my father this morning.

"Nessie it's time," he said.

"Time for what?"

"It's time that you got married. You know the law. Before the first Christmas Eve following her 17th birthday every daughter must conceive a child,"

"What?! But I'm not even your real daughter?! I'm just some baby you found in a trash can outside of Forks, Washington on Christmas Eve. Why would the law even apply to me?"

"Renesmee the law says every daughter. Adopted or not you are still my daughter. More importantly you are my only child. I have to ensure that their is a male heir to my throne after I die,"

"and how would you even be so sure that the baby I would conceive would be male?"

"As long as you wear the diamond necklace the magic will ensure that a male child is conceived and that he will inherit my powers," he explained.

Of course. How could I forget that? "But Christmas Eve? That's only a little over two months away? I don't have enough time?"

"Well luckily you do not have to worry about that. I've already arranged a marriage for you. In a week's time you are to marry Jack Frost's son,"

"What?!" I screamed. There was no way in hell I would ever marry an asshole like that!

"It's done Nessie so I suggest that you make your peace with it,"

"But-"

"No buts young lady. Everything has already been arranged,"

I was furious. I'd known about the law for years. By the first Christmas Eve following her 17th birthday every daughter of Santa Claus must conceive a male cchild. The stakes were even higher when the current Santa never produced a son. My father had never been able to have biological children of his own. He'd gotten lucky when he found me abandoned.

I pulled on the diamond necklacethat hung around my neck. This wasn't an ordinary necklace. At 4,000 karats it was the most expensive necklace in the world and it could only be found here in the North Pole. But that's not what makes it very special. At my christening my father gave me the necklace which had been endowed with all of his magical powers. With it I could do whatever I wanted including granting wishes.

I took a deep breath to calm my nerves. It was at that moment that I had an idea. An idea that would change everything. I would leave the North Pole. If my father wanted me to have a baby that badly then fine. I would get pregnant but it wouldn't be that asshole's baby that I carried. No way would I get by pregnant by the son of Jack Frost.

No. I would go out into the world, find some human to have a one night stand with, and be done with it and then I'd come back on Christmas Eve to give my father the good news. It was a good plan. Nothing could go wrong. Besides I've always wanted to go go explore the world on my own. I wanted to know what it felt like to be a normal human teenager.

So I got to work on my plan right away. I decided that Anchorage, Alaska would be my destination. I made fake transcripts and within a few hours I'd been officially enrolled in school. I made some other fake documents to make it look like I was an emancipated minor. I'd already found a nice house to rent also.

Now I just had to find a way to get out of here. At night when everyone was already asleep I snuck out to the reindeer paddock. All of the reindeer were also sound asleep and I had to be very careful not to wake them all up. They would all disapprove of my plan and would alert my father instantly. All except one particular reindeer.

At only five months old Dasher Jr. was still just a baby. But Santa's reindeer weren't like any other reindeer. All North Pole reindeer were much larger than normal reindeer. Santa's full grown reindeer were taller than horses. Since Dasher Jr. was still just a baby he wasn't that big yet but he was certainly much larger than other baby reindeer his age.

I picked up a tiny rock and carefully flicked it at the young buck. He opened his eyes and looked around. His eyes went wide when he spotted me. He got up carefully so that he wouldn't wake his mother.

"Nessie what are you doing awake?" he asked me.

"Hey do you want to go on an adventure?"

His eyes lit up with excitement. "Of-"

"Be quiet," I shushed him quickly and opened the paddock. "Come with me quietly and I will explain everything," I put the harness on him as quietly and quickly as I could. It was a little big on him but it would have to do.

"We're leaving," I said once we were away from all the others.

"Where are we going?"

I smiled. I loved how he didn't even ask why we were leaving. He just cared about going on an adventure. His mother was extremely overprotective of him to the point where she didn't want to let him out of her sight. If she knew what I was planning she'd kill me herself before my father got a chance to.

"We're going to a place called Anchorage, Alaska. I can't stay here anymore,"

"Is it because you don't want to get married?"

"How did you know about that?" I asked. How many people knew?

"It's all mom and dad have been talking about," he rolled his eyes.

"Yes and that is why we're getting out of here. But only for a few months. I also have to lay out some ground rules for you-"

"Oh come on-"

"First of all no talking to humans. It will freak them out. Second no flying in front of humans. That will also freak them out. Third you will be living in a forest for awhile but I will be close by and I will be checking on you all the time. Do you understand?"

"Sounds adventurous. I say let's do it,"

I climbed onto his back. "Alright let's go,"

He took off running as fast as he could. Which was extremely fast. North Pole reindeer were the fastest and strongest creatures on the planet. Within seconds we were airborne. We flew higher and higher until we were above an altitude that most airplanes flew at.

Dasher Jr. laughed with joy. He was a reindeer in training and up until now he'd never flown so high before. His mother had been very reluctant to let fly even a dozen feet off of the ground.

This was pure bliss. Thanks to my father I knew how to read stars and figure out my location based on that alone.

"Okay it's time to land," I said after a few hours in the air. We descended fast and I saw nothing but forest beneath us.

Then everything went wrong all at once. There was nowhere to land safely and it was too late to pull back at up. We crashed into a tree and I was sent flying. My head smacked into a tree. I couldn't see where Dasher Jr. had landed but he was probably okay. He was strong.

I started feeling very dizzy and it became nearly impossible to think through the pain. Until I stopped thinking altogether.
