Warner couldn't concentrate.

His vision swam as he fingered the law books before him. Studying was such a chore. What was worse was that he had only sat down for 5 minutes. This problem had been plaguing him for months. Warner really wanted to believe he was just sick or tired, but deep down he knew the real cause – he was tired of law school.

Harvard was a prestigious university millions of students fought just to get an acceptance letter. It was an honour bestowed upon him, through his hard work (no, not the few thousand bucks his father paid the headmasters).

If only he'd known the STRESS that came with that honour!

When C-minus Callahan was fired, he thought things would get better. He was wrong. The professors seemed intent on filling the cruel miserable hole Callahan left behind. Professor Crown's newly implemented weekly assignments, Peterson's knack for setting tricky exam questions, and the thousands of Latin terms waiting for him to memorize were driving him mad.

He didn't dare to inform his parents that he was dumped by Vivian, dumped by Elle, his grades had slipped, to the point he was kicked out of his study group.

And now, his valiant attempts to study… You could see how well that turned out. Warner rubbed his eyes, sighing. His gaze unconsciously flitted to a pair a few tables away.

Elle and Emmett, sitting across each other, pouring over books and papers. He couldn't help but notice the Starbucks latte in between them. His heart tensed bitterly. He had underestimated the little beauty Elle Woods, who was now dating her best friend. Well, not exactly. They never admitted to dating, and Warner had never seen them do anything more than hugging and holding hands that made his heart itch.

The smell of latte had been tickling his nose for the past few minutes. He needed to get one. Warner wondered if he could drink it in the library. The only reason Elle's latte was allowed was because the librarians got free latte.

Warner slipped out of the library.

At the school gate, he noticed a middle aged woman. A rich woman, judging by the accessories and the branded bags he recognized because of Elle. Unfortunately, he recognized the blonde woman. Warner desperately tried to avoid her, maybe slip behind a tree or something, but the woman already had him.

"Warner! Handsome as before. Are you doing well?" Warner stepped on his own foot. He was not going to hyperventilate.

"Ah, yes, very very well, Mrs Woods." Warner stammered. Elle's mother took off her glasses, beaming.

"Wonderful. How's my dear Elle? I heard she solved a huge case last year! What do you think about that?" Warner winced slightly. Elle's mother was still salty(SALTY) over him for dumping – No, breaking up with Elle.

"Yes, she's very well." Warner tried for a smile.

"So… I suppose she found her love?" Warner froze. Mrs Woods had surely meant him.

"I remember Elle begging, begging me and my husband to let her go to Harvard, for reasons of love. Has she finally found her love at Harvard?" Good lord. He was not telling Mrs Woods about his failed proposal. Mrs Woods was killing him with this question. But then he thought again, and he realized exactly what Mrs Woods wanted to hear.

"Yes, she has found her love here, and she is very happy." Warner smiled, albeit wistfully.

"I'm happy for her." He added from his heart.
