Many more moons passed before he met her. She was simple, but caring and generous, giving her assistance to anyone in need of it, even spirits. Thus she was considered somewhat of an outcast by the other magicians, even more so when the two met and bonded.

Her hair flowing red around her shoulders all the way down to her lower back. Deep green eyes always watching, although not in a careful or cautious manner. No, she was observant, but naive. Caring, but too kind for her own good.

Some day late in october, she was at a gala dinner of the high ranked sort. Only the finest of magicians was there along with their servants. Sonya's servant was a low-ranked foliot who went by the name Kas and while he was a good servant and an okay-ish friend of her, she was curious of what it would be like to have a stronger one. Summoning one wouldn't be a problem for her - she had done it multiple times for shorter occasions.

Kas had been by her side for a very long time now, and she knew he was tired. She couldn't hear it in his voice, nor see it in his actions, but it was as if she could feel it in his energy. Because of this, she had been searching for a replacement for some time, but had yet to find the one that felt right.

This gala dinner was for a charity for the benefit of the magician society. There had been the dinner, of course, which was bland and boring. Always with the same conversations. Conversations that interested her very little. Some of it was important stuff, and so she paid attention to it as best as she could.

His chosen form was that of a tall man with slight sun-kissed skin. His hair long and brown in a ponytail so to not be in the way while working. His face light with stubble, and blue eyes made certain to not look directly upon anyone as he stood by his master, sorting out the words from conversations around him and fixating his gaze upon the crowd without making eye-contact with anyone.

A guardian. An utterly bored guardian that would much prefer to be anywhere else but in a crowded room filled with noisy humans. Anywhere would be better than here. He closed his eyes for a moment and dreamt of something pleasant - he had always enjoyed trees - though as he opened his eyes again he spotted something red as wild, fiery flames. Green eyes looked to him, meeting his gaze for a moment before it was as if they disappeared, yet again swallowed by the hungry crowd.
