Charlie groaned as her neck kinked up, remembering where she was she opened her eyes and sat up. Leaning over a sleeping Brax she sighed and ran her fingers along his cheek "what would I do if I lost you?" She said quietly.

Watching him for another few minutes she stood up and stretched out her body, walking to the window she went off into a daze trying to think what could have happened. She knew Brax would never leave any of the kitchen equipment on, he was always so careful, even if the evening staff had told him they knocked everything off he would still go check himself.

She looked behind her as the door opened and Peter walked in, "hey," she said and looked out the window.

"Hey," he replied and walked to her. "How is he?" he asked nodding to Brax.

"Burst eardrum, smoke inhalation and minor concussion," she replied and turned to sit on the window sill. "How bad is the damage?" she asked after a minute.

"Just the kitchen and a few booths caught by the explosion...it'll be closed for a while," he said and sat beside her.

"This is all we need," she sighed and looked over at Brax "this is gonna crush him."

"You're not gonna like what I came to say," Peter said.

Charlie took her eyes away from Brax, "just say it, what else can go wrong?" she sighed.

Peter scrubbed his hands over his face and sighed heavily, "I've just left the fire inspector, I'm sorry Charlie...it was Arson."

"What?" she asked after a minute, "arson? That can't be right, who would to that? Who would do that to Us?" she asked looking at the bed as Brax moved.

"I don't know, it could be someone just passing through, it could be teenagers, could be anyone. I'm heading the investigation," Peter said and walked towards the door, "when you feel up to it I'll need to get a statement from you...I'm sorry Charlz," he said and slipped out the door.

Charlie turned back to the window and let out a heavy sigh, who would do this to them? Who would want to hurt them so bad? With one person springing to mind she clenched her fists, before she could think anything else she looked over at the door as it opened again and smiled weakly as Sid walked in.

"Charlie," he greeted and walked to Brax's chart. "How was he during the night?" he asked as he scribbled on the chart.

"A bit of coughing and a headache, other than that he slept most of the night," she replied.

Sid nodded, "and you? How are you?"

"I'm okay," she replied, "I need to go off for a while, will he be okay on his own?"

Sid nodded, "I just passed Casey and Kyle in the shop so he won't be alone...you're to take it easy Charlie."

"I know, I just want to head home and get changed and that...I'll be an hour tops," she said and left the room

...

Arriving at the station Charlie walked to Peter's office and knocked, "hey, she said when he looked up.

"Hey," he replied and stood up, "I didn't mean today Charlie."

"I'm not here for that," she said and closed the door.

"Then why are you here?" He asked watching her pace the office.

"I was thinking about what you said about the fire and someone passing through," she said and sat down. Thinking for a moment she looked up at him, "what if it was Robbie?" she asked.

Peter scoffed, "he wouldn't do that, we've nothing to charge him with, he has no motive."

"Think about it Pete, if he can tell his brother to leave his own daughter unconscious and April injured he could do anything...check him out for me please?" she asked.

Peter looked at her and frowned, "I'm surprised you came to me first instead of going to see him yourself...what's going on?"

"Nothing," she replied and stood up, she wasn't ready to tell him she might be leaving the Police force. "Brax is my main concern now," she said and walked to the door, "I'll call you later, I just left to get a shower and clean clothes."

Arriving at her house she let herself in and threw her keys on the counter. "who's that?!" Justin called from the top of the stairs.

"Me!" she called back and walked to the kettle, she chuckled as she heard him run down the stairs.

"How are you?" he asked waking to her, "How's Brax?"

Handing him a cup she walked to the table, "I'm fine, Brax has a burst eardrum and minor concussion, they're keeping him in for a while."

Justin nodded, "any news on Angelo's? Did they figure out what happened?"

Charlie nodded and looked into her cup, "Pete came to see me, the fire inspector is ruling it as arson, Pete just started an investigation."

"Arson?!" he yelled wide eyed. "They're sure?" after her nod he sighed, "who would do that to you guys? I can't believe it, I'm so sorry Charlie," he said and placed his hand on hers.

"Yeah, me too, I can tell you one thing though," she said and stood up, "I am gonna find who did this and I'm going to kill them for almost taking my Husband away from me," she added a she walked towards the stairs.

At the top of the stairs Ruby stood listening with tears running down her cheeks. This was all her fault, Brax could have been killed, her mum could have been killed...she needed to tell them what she had done. Hearing Charlie's voice getting closer she ran to her room, she wanted to see Brax one last time before she handed herself in.

April sat up in the bed and watched her lean against the door, "what are we gonna do?"

Ruby wiped her face and walked to her wardrobe, "I'm gonna go see Brax, after that I'm going to the station, you know nothing, you weren't with me, she said and walked out the door.

Arriving at the hospital Ruby walked slowly towards Brax's room as she thought what she was going to say. Stopping outside the room she peered through the glass to see him alone daydreaming out the window, she knew Charlie was still at home, she had heard her before she left. She looked down as her phone rang, seeing April flash on the screen she sighed and cancelled the call, it was her fifth call since she left the house.

She looked down as it beeped with a message, opening it she sighed as she read it please don't do this Ruby please! We can't tell them yet. Please let Brax be released 1st, then we can tell them together...please!

Ruby reached out for the handle her hand shook, pulling back she shook her hand up and down. "Get it together, you need to tell him, you need to be punished," she said out loud. Blowing out a deep breath she grabbed the handle and pushed the door in before she chickened out.

"Rubes, hey," he smiled upon seeing her, seeing her face and puffy red eyes he knew she'd been crying, his smile dropped, all thoughts running through his brain "what is it? Is it mum? The baby?"

Ruby listened as the heart monitor got louder and faster as his heart rate sped up, he was panicking, walking to the bed she took his hand to calm him, "mum and baby are fine, she's at home with my uncles."

"You scared me?" He chuckled, "What's wrong then?" he asked and squeezed her hand, "you know you can tell me anything."

Ruby bit on her lip as she thought were to start, "I was worried about you," she sniffed.

"Aww, Rubes," he chuckled as she started to cry. "I'm fine," he said and pulled her into a hug.

Ruby held onto him tight, this was going to be the last hug she'd get off him, he was going to hate her once she told him. "I love you dad," She whimpered.

"I love you too Rubes," he said as he rubbed her back, " stop crying, everything is gonna be okay."

Ruby bust out crying and held onto him for dear life, "I'm sorry!" she cried and gripped him tighter, "I'm so, so sorry!" she sobbed.

Brax sighed and rubbed her back, "calm down Rubes, don't be working yourself up, everyone is fine."

After a few minutes silence Ruby stepped back from him and wiped her eyes, "I'm sorry," she sniffed.

"Feel better?" he asked concerned as she began to pace in front of him.

"No," She replied and looked up at him, "I'm so sorry Dad...it was me...I did it...I burned down Angelo's."

Brax stared at her in shock, his heart slowly sinking. He stared at her for what felt like forever. This, he could not believe.

...

"Why?" he finally asked, "why Ruby?!" he yelled.

Ruby looked down at her hands, "because you and mum were fighting again over Angelo's, I missed you, I just wanted you to come home for good. I thought if I did it mum wouldn't be mad you for selling it and you wouldn't resent mum because you did sell it."

Brax scrubbed his hands over his face, "I don't believe this."

"I'm sorry," she whimpered.

"Sorry?!" he yelled, "you're sorry?!"

"I know what I did was wrong...you and mum weren't meant to be there."

"Oh, so that makes it okay then?" He scoffed. "Your mum could have been killed! I could have been killed!" he yelled.

"I know, she whimpered and looked over at him, "I'm so sorry, I'm heading to the station after here, I just wanted to see you and see you were okay." When he didn't reply Ruby sniffed and walked to the door, "I'm so sorry Dad, I hope one day you can forgive me," she whimpered and pulled the door open.

"Don't!" He called after her.

Ruby stopped and looked back at him, "I need to go, I have to pay for what I've done."

"Come back in and close the door," he replied.

Ruby stepped back into the room and closed the door, "dad," she sighed.

"Don't talk," he said quickly.

Ruby nodded and looked at the floor, she could tell he was thinking, but of what she didn't know.

"I need time to think about this," he finally said.

"What is there to think about?" she asked. "I did it, I could have killed you and mum...I need to turn myself in."

"This will kill your mum," he said and looked at her, "she will lose the baby for sure," he added.

Ruby nodded, she didn't think of the baby, "so what should I do?" she asked and looked over at him.

"I don't know," he sighed, "but you can't go to the station, have you told anyone else? Does anyone know you were there?"

"No," she replied, "Tori thought I was in my room...climbed out the window."

"I need time to think things through, you tell no one else, got it?"

Nodding she walked a little closer to him, "I really am sorry dad, if I could take it back I would...I just wanted the fighting to stop, I wanted you to come home."

Brax looked at her for a moment, he couldn't believe she had done this, that she was so stupid. He sighed and looked up at the ceiling, "I need you to go home, I need to think about this."

Ruby nodded and looked at him, walking to the door she pulled it open, "I love you Dad, I'm so, so sorry," she sniffed and ran down the hall.

Brax looked at the empty doorway and sighed heavily, this would definitely break Charlie...how the hell was he going to get this one to go away? Groaning he rolled onto his side, he needed a plan, and fast.

A while later Charlie let herself into the room, "hey," she smiled and kissed him on the cheek, "sorry I'm only coming back now, I fell asleep after the shower, no one woke me."

"You should be resting anyway," he replied.

"Has Sid or anyone been around?" she asked as she dropped into a chair.

"Yeah, Sid was in, he thinks one more night should do it."

"Aww," she pouted, " I thought you'd be allowed home today."

Brax chuckled and slid his hand into hers, "if I didn't know how tired you were I'd ask you to stay here with me."

"I can stay," she offered.

"No, you need to be resting, you need a good nights sleep," he replied, "I was kidding, I'll be fine."

Leaning in she kissed him sweetly, "I brought you some shower stuff and clothes, your phone is smashed so I brought you mine, I have my work phone so I can call you later."

"Babe, to be honest I'm just gonna sleep after you leave, you don't need to leave your phone."

"How's your head?" she asked ignoring what he said.

"fine now, Sid gave me more meds."

Nodding she sat back in the chair, "was anyone else in today?"

Casey, Kyle, Heath and Ash, they didn't stay long," he replied.

Charlie frowned, "Did Ruby not stop by? April said she was coming here."

"She did," he nodded, "sorry, I forgot she was here, I had a massive headache," he lied "she told me to go to sleep."

"Good, she's really worried about you, Tori said she went in to her twice last night because she was crying."

"She's okay now?" he asked.

"I haven't seen her, she was gone when I came out of the shower, I'll talk to her when I get home."

Brax just nodded, he knew Ruby couldn't keep things from her, "Ill call her in bit and see how she is."

After a few minutes silence Brax turned to her, "any news on Angelo's?"

Charlie nodded and slid her hand into his, "uh, Pete came to see me this morning, I'm sorry," she sighed, "it was Arson...someone did this."

He had to play along, " what?" he finally asked "Arson? Are you sure?"

Charlie nodded, "fire inspector ruled it as arson, an investigation has been started."

'Shit' he thought to himself, he needed to think fast, "who's leading it?"

"Pete, don't worry Brax, he won't stop until he catches who did this-I won't stop until I catch them."

Brax leaned over and kissed her, "you're to stay out of this you hear me? You're meant to be resting and taking it easy."

Charlie stood up and leaned over him, lowering her head she kissed him deeply and pulled back, "they could have taken you away from me, I'm out for blood...back in a sec, she said and left the room as her phone rang.

Brax sighed and picked up her phone, firing off a quick message he deleted it and put the phone down. He really had no idea what to do.

...

Back home Ruby looked down at her phone and panicked a little as Charlie's name came up on the screen. Opening the message she bit on her lip as she read it its dad, mum is worked up over all this. I will be home tomorrow, stay out of her way until then. Sighing she dropped the phone and lay back on her bed.

She looked up as the door opened and Mason stuck his head in, "I've called you twice, dinner is ready."

"I'll be down in a minute," she replied.

Rolling off the bed she made her way to the table and slotted herself in between Justin and Mason, "you okay sweetie?" Tori asked as she placed a plate in front of her.

"Tired...thanks," she mumbled and pulled the plate closer to her.

"You sure?" Justin asked, "you look miserable."

"Wouldn't you be if your mum and dad were almost killed!" she snapped.

Before anyone else could say anything Peter and Jack came in the back door and dropped into empty seats "hey guys," Peter yawned.

Tori put plates in front of them and sat down, "you two need to go to bed," she said.

"Thanks T," Jack yawned, "we've been out all day and half the night looking for someone."

"For Angelo's?" Brodie asked.

Peter glanced at Ruby, "no work talk," he said.

"Tell me?" Ruby asked, "is it about Angelo's?"

Peter sighed and looked over at her, she was very like Charlie, she wouldn't stop until you answered her. "Yes, he finally said, "we needed Robbie to answer a few questions."

"You think he did this?" April asked looking at Ruby.

"One of them anyway, it wasn't him, we've cleared him, Jack said.

"Who else are you looking at?" Mason asked.

"Forget about it," Peter said, "has anyone been to see Brax?"

"I was going to stop in after dinner," Tori said, "Charlie said she wanted a bit of time with him."

"Poor guy," Brodie sighed, "after everything he's been through-both of them have been through, some jackass comes along and does this."

"I know," Peter sighed, "they never seem to get a break."

"Stop talking about!" Ruby yelled and jumped "I don't want to hear any more!"

"Rubes!" Mason said and rubbed her back.

"No!"she screeched, "I don't want to hear about it anymore! My mum could have died! She could have lost the baby! My dad could have died! I don't want to hear about!" she cried and ran off.

The table was in silence for a few moments, April pulled back her chair and stood up, "I'll go see if she's okay," she said and hurried after her.

"I didn't think she was taking it this hard," Peter said.

"I knew she was holding back something," Tori said, "she kept telling me she was fine."

Jack looked towards the stairs, "she's gotten it out of her system now, maybe that's what she needed."

Over at the hospital Brax sat watching Charlie, after her head dropped for the third time he chuckled, "go home babe."

"I'm fine here," she yawned.

Brax leaned down to her, "what did I say last then?"

Charlie smiled sweetly, "that you love me."

Brax chuckled and kissed her, "go home and get some sleep."

"Fine," she yawned and stood up, " is there anything you need before I go?"

"No," he said and tugged her to him, "I just need you to go home and look after yourself," he said kissing her deeply.

Charlie wound her arms around his neck and kissed him deeper, as his hands locked around her waist she pulled back and looked down on him, "we better stop before we get thrown out," she chuckled.

Brax kissed her once more and dropped his hands, "you get off then, I'll see you in the morning."

Charlie pulled back and grabbed her bag, "I love you, I'll be back first thing...bye babe!" she called on her way out.

"Love you more!" he called after her.

As soon as she was gone he dropped his smile and sighed heavily, he hated keeping things from her. He looked up as Heath walked into the room and started looking around, "can I help you mate?" he asked when he didn't say anything.

"I've lost my house keys, have you seen them?" Heath replied and dropped to look under the bed.

"No," Brax sighed and sat back in the bed.

"What's up with you?" Heath asked.

"Something on my mind, need to figure it out."

"Okay," Heath nodded, "what is it?"

Brax looked over at him for a moment, "I know who torched Angelo's."

"Right," Heath said and stood up, "give me a name."

"That's the thing," Brax sighed, "I can't tell you, I can't tell anyone...it's someone close to me."

"She wouldn't?" Heath asked horrified.

"What?" Brax frowned.

"Charlie? She wouldn't, would she?"

"It's not Charlie," he replied.

"Then who? Who else in the family would do this?"

Brax sighed, "it doesn't matter who it was, I just need a way to get this to go away and Charlie never finding out."

Heath shook his head and stood up, he'd known Brax long enough to know to leave him be. "you've been bailing me out for years, you'll think of something."

"Heath!" Brax called stopping him in the doorway, "not a word to anyone and I mean it."

Heath nodded, "my lips are sealed," he replied and walled on.

Lying back in the bed he looked up to the ceiling he racked his brain trying to come up with an idea. He had to make the cops doubt the arson idea, he needed them to stop looking for someone...he needed to make it his fault, to cover up what Ruby had done he needed to do this. He needed to do this for Charlie.

...

The next morning Charlie walked into his room with his discharge papers, "good morning baby," she smiled and kissed him.

"Morning babe, someone's happy," he chuckled.

"I am," she nodded and kissed him, "I get to take you home now," she said and dropped into the chair. "Sid spoke to you about what to expect?"

"Yeah," he nodded, "he said my balance will be off for a few days and I might get a headache or two...can we go now?" he asked.

Charlie smiled and put the papers in front of him, " all you gotta do is sign, then we can go."

Brax took the pen from her and signed his name, "let's go," he chuckled.

Charlie walked to the door and wheeled in a wheelchair, "I know you're probably gonna argue, but you have to leave the grounds in this."

Brax chuckled and pulled back his covers, "whatever gets us outta here quicker."

Pulling up at their house Charlie walked to his side and opened the door. "I've asked the others to give us some space, they're gonna stay at Jack and Pete's for a few days. Its just us and the girls."

"Are they here?" he asked as she helped him inside.

"They should be...girls!" Charlie called up the stairs.

April came running down, "Brax!" she yelled and flung herself at him, "you're home! You're finally home!"

Brax hugged her back, "take it easy," he chuckled, "where's Ruby?"

April stepped back, "she's asleep, she's not feeling too well...she threw up a few times last night, she doesn't look too great either."

"She seemed fine before I went to bed, maybe i should check on her," Charlie said as she led Brax to the sofa.

"Leave her," Brax said, "don't wake her, she's probably run down after everything that's happened...let her sleep."

Charlie looked at the stairs, she hadn't really had much time for the girls since the fire and Brax being in hospital. Nodding she sat down beside him, "I'll check on her in an hour."

April watched them for a moment, she caught Brax's eye smiling quickly she walked to the kitchen, "coffee? Tea?" she asked.

"No thanks!" Charlie called back

Leaning on the counter she sighed, she couldn't do this, she couldn't let Ruby take the fall. She looked up as Charlie passed by her on the phone, grabbing herself a glass of water she walked back to the living room to see Brax still looking at her. "Uh, everything okay?" she asked as he stared back.

"You tell me," he replied.

April pulled a frown, "I don't know what you mean."

"Yes you do, I think we need to have a little chat, don't you?"

April was beginning to panic, she had to hold it together, "Brax, I really have no idea what you're talking about."

"You're gonna lie right to my face?" he asked. After a minute of silence he sighed and sat back in to the sofa "you know what Ruby did, I know you do," he said and looked beyond her as Charlie walked back in, "we'll talk later."

Three days had gone by and Brax was getting his balance back, Charlie kissed him goodbye and went on her way to her first day back in work. Watching her from the bedroom he waited until her car was halfway down the street, sure she was gone he walked to April's room and knocked on the door.

"Yeah?" she called back.

Brax walked in and closed the door over, walking to her desk he sat on the chair, "tell me what you know."

April looked at the clock, "um, I've a hospital appointment at nine."

Brax looked at the clock to see it was after eight, "I'll take you, then we'll talk," he said and left the room. Getting to the bottom of the stairs he frowned as Charlie walked back in, "didn't you just leave?" he chuckled.

"Yeah and then I remembered April has an appointment, I'll have to go in late."

Leaning in he kissed her sweetly, "I got it covered, you go to work."

"Are you sure you're okay to drive? It's only been a few days."

Brax smiled and kissed her again, "I was fine driving to Heath's yesterday, stop worrying."

"Okay," she said and kissed him again, " but only if you're sure."

"I'm sure, have a great day babe...love ya."

"Love you too...bye!" she called on her way out.

After April had seen Sid and had her cast removed they walked to the car in silence. "Where do you want to go to talk?" April asked.

"Home, I want to talk to the both of you."

April just nodded and climbed into the car without another word.

Arriving home he walked to the stairs, "sit there, I'm going to get Ruby," he said and went up.

Ten minutes later all three sat looking from one to the other, "I'll start," Brax said and stood up. "April, tell me what you know."

April glanced at Ruby before looking down at the floor, "I was there," she mumbled.

Brax snapped his head to her, he thought she just knew what Ruby had done. "You were there?!" he yelled, "both of you were there?" after their nods he flung his hands behind his head, "Jesus Christ!" he yelled and started to pace. "Why? Why would you do this to me? Do you hate me or something? Have I not given you enough? Why would you ruin me like this?"

"You weren't supposed to be there, we waited for all the staff to leave before we did it," April said.

"We just wanted you to come home," Ruby whimpered, "we thought it would solve the problems you and mum were having.

Brax scrubbed his hands over his face and dropped into a chair "I can't believe you did this, I'm so shocked and hurt and angry at what you did, I'm so angry I could kill you both!"

"We're going to the station, " April sniffed.

"No you're not Brax scoffed, "do you realise what this will do to Charlie if she finds out?"

...

A While later they sat in silence, Brax finally stood up and started to pace, "you need to tell me exactly what you did, step by step."

"Why?" Ruby frowned, "what good will that do?"

Brax looked down on her, " I need to know exactly what you did so I can get them away from the arson idea and stop them looking for you!" he hissed.

"Brax you can't do that," Ruby gasped "mum will be so mad at you if she finds out."

"I've no choice! Have I?" he yelled. "You got us into this mess, I need to fix it!"

"We'll tell Charlie," April said, "We'll take out punishment."

Brax looked down on her "April, you know how long Charlie and I have been trying for this baby, you know what'll happen if she finds out...this is the only way," he muttered.

"What if we told her it was an accident? That we went to get drink and it started, we panicked and ran out the back door?" Ruby asked.

"No, she'd have known you were there.. .give me time to think about this... go to your rooms, he said and went to the kitchen.

Ruby followed him and leaned against the doorway, "I think you should tell mum, I hear what you're saying about the baby, really I do. You and mum have just made up, April and I both agree we should be punished for what we did. Please dad?" she said took a step closer to him "don't let what we did get in the way of you and mum...you know you can't keep it from her," she said and walked back to the door. "For what its worth...we truly are really sorry," she added.

Later that evening Brax sat alone at the kitchen counter looking into a cup, it had long gone cold. Charlie walked in and smiled, "hey," she said and kissed him on the cheek.

"Hey," he sighed.

"What's wrong babe?" she asked walking back to him.

Sighing again he looked up at her, Ruby was right, he couldn't keep this from her, as much as he wanted to, he couldn't. "We need to talk...sit down."

Charlie frowned but sat down anyway, "this sounds serious...what's happened?"

Brax turned his body to face her, taking both her hands he squeezed them, "you know I love you right? You know I'd do anything to protect you?"

Charlie's heart began to race, what was happening here? Looking at their hands she looked up to his face "Brax? What's going on here? You're scaring me...do you want to leave me? I thought we'd sorted this out."

Brax leaned in and kissed her, "I'm never going anywhere babe, never."

"So what's going on? You're freaking me out, "she sniffed.

Brax took both her hands again and closed his eyes, Sighing heavily he looked at her "the girls were the ones who started the fire at Angelo's."

Ten minutes had gone by and Charlie still hadn't said a word, Brax was getting worried, "babe? Did you hear what I said?"

Charlie broke from her daze and looked at him, without a word she leapt of the chair and ran for the stairs. Getting to Ruby's door she all but kicked it in.

Inside the room Ruby and April jumped a mile when the door bounced off the wall and Charlie stormed into the room, a panting Brax behind her. "Tell me what he is saying is not true!" She yelled pointing at Brax, " tell me he's lying!" she yelled.

Ruby and April looked at the floor "we're sorry mum," Ruby whispered.

Charlie looked back to Brax behind her, looking to the girls she bit her lip "sorry?" she whimpered "you burn down Angelo's, nearly kill Brax and I and sorry is supposed to be good enough? What the hell is wrong with you two? Why would you do something like this? Why would you be so stupid? I can't believe this! I can't even look at you!" she screamed and stormed out of the room.

"Leave her to calm down," Brax said and followed her. Finding her in the kitchen he walked to the table and sat beside her, "should I leave you alone?"

Charlie wiped her face and looked over at him, "is this really happening? Did our girls really try to kill us?"

Brax slid his hand onto hers, "they didn't try to kill us, they didn't know we were there."

"Did they tell you what happened? Why they did it?" she sniffed.

Nodding her squeezed her hand, "they thought if Angelo's was gone some other way other than me selling it we would stop fighting. They wanted me to come home for good...they missed me."

Charlie let a tear run down her cheek, "they missed you? I missed you! You don't see me burning down buildings!" she yelled before she dropped her head onto the table and burst out crying.

Brax wrapped his arm around her, "babe please don't cry, we'll figure it out."

"Figure it out?" she laughed and stood up, "they're coming down the station with me, they're gonna own up to what they've done."

"I know you're angry and upset babe, but please listen to me," he said walking to her. "You can't bring them to the station."

"They need to pay for what they've done Brax! They could have killed you! I could have lost you!" she sobbed.

Brax hurried to her and wrapped her up in a hug "and I could have lost you Charlie, and our baby. Trust me, they know what they did was wrong and what could have happened, I just need you to calm down and listen to me...I may have a way out of this."

Charlie pulled back and looked up at him, "how Brax? How could you possibly get us out of this?"

Brax smiled and lowered his head "by trusting me," he said and kissed her sweetly.

Charlie pulled back and sat at the table, "I'm listening."
