Disclaimers: I do not own Warframe.

A/N: Hello everyone. In case you haven't realized, I'm taking a small break from this story to work on my other ones. The main reason being is that I have upload *looks at word count* nearly 30000 words for this story in a short amount of time (that's an entire story and then some for the average writer) and I feel that I have been neglecting my other stories. When I come back to it, I want to hit the ground running with not only the Nidus' profile, but also getting back into the main storyline, along with my excerpt on the Infested War.

Anyway, this was sent to me by Geolex. While I did change some things around and added a bit, all credit goes to them.

Designs

Ever since she witnessed "Excabliur Prime" as it was called, on Mercury, Saryn had been captivated by its design. She was processed every piece of information she got about this new 'weapon' that their enemies now had and just by going off the brief look she got of it combine with her time working in the empire's fashion industry prior to becoming a Tenno, this definitely screamed 'Orokin' to her. Not a cheap imitation like the Corpus usually did with their designs, but pure, untainted, Orokin, and this worried her a more than anything.

Anyway, she felt like needed to get her mind off of it and thought that maybe making some designs would help. She just started her forty-eight-hour furlough, so she had time on her hands to do a quick sketch or two...or a dozen if inspiration came to her.

After removing her Warframe and sitting down at her desk inside of her private quarters, she grabbed one of her many pencils, one of her drawing books, and turned to a blank page. As she brought her pencil to the paper though….

"This design is terrible and impractical, Saryn."

The words of the Dragon Tenno came back to her mind.

Those very words he used to describe the Dynasty Armor design she made for him not long after she awoke from her long sleep. The only reason she even did was that she realizes that he was one of the few Tenno who didn't have a design request from her and she thought she was being generous by going ahead and doing one for him.

She narrows her eyes down at the page as she pressed the lead tip onto the blank paper, her grip tightening on the pencil as she drew onto it. Her designs were the pinnacle of fashion in the days of the empire, being recognized by the emperor himself and even worn by the empress. The cost of just one of her dresses could have funded the average Orokin colony in its entirety for a year and yet that backwater caveman had the audacity to call a personal design she made for him "terrible and impractical".

It was at that very moment that Chroma said those words that Saryn has to restrain herself from lashing out at him. The last person to criticize her designs to such a degree, a bumbling fashion assistant intern her company assign to her, ended up fired that same day along with receiving a gash across her face where Saryn slash her with a pair of scissors.

But even in her rage, the Poison Tenno knew that any head-on confrontation with the Dragon Tenno would not end well for her, especially on her own. Before that day, Saryn didn't share the same level of animosity toward him that Ember, Volt, and Frost did, but now her hostile feelings regarding him were only surpassed by what she felt toward Hydroid.

"I'll show you, you filthy barbarian", as her hand moved about, the tip dancing upon the white and leaving a dark gray in its wake as its lines soon connected to one another.

What started out as a blank piece of paper was quickly turning into a canvas of something draconic, one of seemingly ancient inspiration as her frustrations came out onto it. Her grip tightening more and…

*SNAP*

Her anger faded as she came back to reality, looking at her now broken pencil, the other wooden half of it now rolling along the page. Then she turns her emerald eyes back to her work.

Upon analyzing it for a moment she realizes that it was like a fusion of two things she disliked, Chroma and the Orokin. It was a combination that definitely looked exquisite despite her hatred for both of them, but at the same time, something else clicked in her head, something she was prepared for.

She has drawn this before.

She didn't know when, she didn't know why, but she was certain that this was done beforehand. Now that she thought about it, even Excalibur Prime's design seemed vaguely familiar to her. She tried to search through her shattered memories but nothing came up whole regarding this mysterious subject.

Saryn ran a hand through her hair and looked down at the drawing once more, thinking about what to do with it.

Should she just tear it up? Should she inform the Lotus or Trinity that she just vaguely recalled something from way back then? Both of them had strict regulations when it came to the other Tenno informing them immediately should they ever remember any important details about their past.

Saryn lets out a huff and got up. She had about six hours before she had to get back into her warframe and she decided that she was going to catch some sleep until then. Maybe afterward she would go see the Healing Tenno in the medbay, but not now.

But as she turns to walk away, she stops mid-turn and looks back at the paper. Grabbing what remains of her pencil, she wrote a title just above the top of her creation in ancient Orokin.

Chroma Prime
