The Stacey/Penny thing is starting to confuse even me now, so I just wanted to explain that the Penny from the movie will still be referred to as Penny, while her twin will be referred to as Stacey even though in reality their names are switched in this story. And sorry for the short chapters. I'll try to update again soon.

Stacey's POV

I scanned my surroundings trying to find another way to get out of the freezer. I wasn't sure what exactly I had caused, but I needed to get out of here to try to fix it. If it was even possible. For my sister's sake. I pursed my lips at the thought. While just a few hours ago I would have felt anger burning within me at the thought of her, now I felt remorse, guilt, and an aching pain. But there wasn't time to drown in my self-pity. I had to act. After searching around and digging through the clutter, I found a vent behind some shelves which might just be my way out. I tugged on the metal bars, but it wouldn't budge. I heard a groan behind me and saw that Hammer was finally coming to his senses.

"Hey you! Get over here!"

"Hmmm, what? Where am I?" He put a hand to his head and stumbled around.

"Quit your lollygagging and get over here!"

"Hey! Stop talking to me like I'm an idiot!" Hammer finally seemed to regain some of his senses and wobbled over to where I was.

"Quit your complaining and help me open this."

"What? Oh! Good you found a way out. Now we can find that buffoon and…"

"Actually there's been a change of plans."

"What do you mean?"

"There's no time to explain! Just do as I say!"

"No. First, tell me what change of plans you're talking about." Hammer crossed his arms firmly and glared at me. But I wasn't having any of that. I picked up the closest thing I could grab, a bottle of half empty wine, and raised it above my head.

"Look! You know I don't mess around. So either help me willingly or…"

"Or what?" His voice didn't quite match the face he was trying to pull. I knew I was getting to him.

"You don't want to know."

Dr. Horrible's POV

Flashes of red hair and brown eyes haunted my dreams. Blood. Bullets. Warped time. It all collectively came together in an explosion of nightmares. I tossed and turned in my sleep, my breathing heavy. I saw her fall over and over again. And then there was another. She stood there, half her body in the shadows, menacingly watching. While the other half stood in the light, a glow emitting off of her, a look of sorrow adorning her face. And then it all began to fade to black. A fuzziness filled my mind. I was going through a dark tunnel. And then I fell into the water. A heavy anchor pulling me down. I couldn't breathe. My lungs were screaming for air. And then it was black.

My eyes bolted open. But the feeling of drowning didn't disappear. I thrashed and kicked, but something, someone was holding me down. My eyes searched in the darkness of the room. And then I saw her. Emily. She was sitting on my chest, her hands wrapped tightly around my throat. My hands came up to grip her arms but I had gone too long without oxygen. I was starting to feel dizzy, the room was spinning and an aching feeling settled in my chest.

"Mommy! Stop it!"

"Go to your sister Jonathan!"

I vaguely heard a conversation in the background. But I was suffocating and it wouldn't be long now. Until suddenly, I heard a loud thud. I breathed in a large whoosh of air. My throat felt sore and my chest pained as I breathed in and out rapidly.

"Who are you? Get lost!"

I turned towards the voices as my breathing steadied and I could finally see clearly again. I saw Penny standing there. No, not Penny. Stacey. Her hands were clutched. And she wore a rather unappealing scowl on her face. Emily was on the floor, struggling to get up, but it seems like the fall she had taken was rather hard. I pieced the situation together and registered what had happened. Stacey had apparently saved me. But why? And how on earth did she get out of that freezer? And where was Captain Hammer? Questions circled my head as I pushed myself to get up off of the bed.

"Stacey?" My voice sounded extremely raspy to my ears. "What are you doing here?"

"Saving your loser self, that's what I'm doing here! And what on earth is wrong with you? Sleeping at a time like this!"

"What? I had been working all day to fix what you had done!" I sighed. Now wasn't the time for an argument, especially in front of the woman who had just tried to kill me. I turned to Emily who was now on her feet, staring angrily towards the floor.

"Emily. Why did you do that?"

"…Because this is all your fault," she answered. I tensed at her words, but tried to seem as calm as possible.

"And what makes you think this is my fault?"

"The Evil League of Evil! They obviously caused all of this. So I'm going to get rid of any of their members I come across!"

"What? I'm not a part of that," I bluffed.

"Yes you are! You said this is your lab! I know this lab belongs to their star member Dr. Horrible! I know who you are!"

"Ok fine. Even if I am Dr. Horrible, how is killing me going to fix any of this?"

"It won't. But it'll give my dead husband some justice." After finished her sentence she picked up a rod off of the ground and started swinging at me, but before it could hit me, a hand reached out and grabbed it. I looked towards Stacey. I had forgotten she was even there for a moment. That must have hurt, but her face certainly didn't show it. Instead she simply yanked the rod out of Emily's hand and pointed it towards her.

"Back up," Stacey ordered. Emily lifted her hands in the air as if she were being reprimanded by a cop and took a few steps back.

"Please. Don't hurt Mommy," a little voice spoke. Jonathan stood in front of his mother like a little man trying to protect her. It was precious, but Emily couldn't just get away with what she had done. Then I remembered something.

"Emily. What did you do to Moist?" She looked towards me, confused and hands still in the air.

"Moist? Oh the one with the sweaty hands. I told you. I'll get rid of you all."

"What? Moist wasn't even a part of the Evil League of Evil!"

"What's it to me if he is or not. He was your little apprentice and that's all that matters," she said with a smirk.

"That's enough," Stacey declared and shoved the rod against Emily's chest and began pushing her back with it into a closet despite Jonathan's cries. Then she swung the door shut and locked it. Emily banged on the door.

"Let me out! Let me out!" Jonathan let out a few whimpers at his mother's distress.

"Don't worry Jonathan," I said, kneeling before him. "Nothing will happen to your mother. And I'll fix all of this ok?" He nodded. "Now go to your sister and watch her." As he left, I turned to Stacey.

"Now to deal with you."

"You're welcome," she said with the same ugly scowl that didn't fit Penny's face. I ignored her comment and continued.

"How did you get out of that freezer?"

"Wouldn't you like to know? Long story short, I tricked Hammer into helping me."

"Where is he now?"

"How should I know? I ditched him and came straight here after getting out." I sighed and rubbed my forehead in frustration.

"And why did you come here? To cause more trouble? I don't have time for this."

"Don't have time? Says the person who was just napping a while ago. Also in case you've forgotten, I just saved you! And I'm here to help you, not cause trouble."

"How are you going to help me?" She was quiet now for a while.

"…I don't know. But just tell me what to do and I'll do it."

"How do I know I can trust you? Why the change of heart?" I asked her suspiciously.

"Let's just say, some new insight into the truth has caused me to switch sides."

"I have no idea what that means."

"Look! I'm going to help, whether you like it or not. I'll staple myself to you hip if I have to."

"Ok. Ok. Fine!" I said throwing my hands in the air in defeat. "But this better now be a trick. Come on. You can help me like Emily was."

"Alright then. Let's go." I took a deep breath. I couldn't believe I was trusting her.

"Whatever."

"Oh and Billy?" I froze at that name coming from that voice. "Can I call you Billy?"

I nodded slowly.

"Thank you," she said with a small smile that made her look exactly like her.
