Alright, here is chapter 11. I am not positive when chapter 12 will be up as I am going back to school for the first time in almost 12 years. I will try to update regularly, however, this fic is almost done. I may continue with a small story after all this on Eve's thoughts and actions during Blood Wars or I just might include a lengthy epilogue. Not 100% sure yet, however, it will center on my belief that Michael is alive. Anyways, please review as right now I will be mostly review motivated given school work and regular work.

Lida exhaled as quietly as possible.

She watched as Lane spoke to the new doctor who had just recently been hired on to take Weiss's place not 3 months ago. Though still new, Doctor Bently seemed to be grasping the complex nature of their study quite well. He had a background as a medical doctor for 6 years and had gone back to school for a degree in cryptozoology shortly after the cleansing had commenced. His years of medical training along with his specialty made him almost perfect for what they were doing here.

"Lida, please." Lane motioned for her to join them.

His demeanor had change drastically over the past year or so. He spoke to her as a decent human being and had even gone out of his way to include her in more of their tests. She had found herself watching Subject Two at a distance, allowing her to grow into her own person and still managing to stay on his good side. It was almost strange, if they had started off this way, maybe so many lives wouldn't have to been sacrificed.

"Yes, sir?" She questioned as she approached both men.

"Doctor Bently, here, has a marvelous idea and I'd like your input on it…given the delicate nature of his proposition."

"Of course, sir. What can I help you with Dr. Bently?" Lida asked looking the man over.

"Well Dr. Lane here has informed me that after some tests a few years back, both Subject One and Subject Two share a similarity in their brain functions, correct?"

"Yes, Doctor Clendon believes after several small incidents both share a trait that allows them to view the world through the other's eyes."

"This is just a theory?"

"Correct, one that has appeared to have some validity to it at the time." Lida agreed.

"Dr. Bently wishes to observe this himself." Lane interrupted. "If you could be so kind as to collect Subject Two and place her in the lab. I will call Dr. Clendon to meet you there, I ask you return here when finished."

"You want I should leave Subject Two alone with Clendon, sir?"

"Yes, he will be notified to take four guards with him and utilize if needed. I would like you here when we bring out Subject One."

"Yes, Sir."

"I…was hoping to examine Subject Two for myself." Bently interrupted looking between the two.

"I'm sorry, that's out of the question. Subject Two is a high risk, and only Level One clearance are authorized to observe her." Lane dismissed quickly.

"Level One? For an eight-year-old little girl." He scoffed.

"Rest assure, Dr. Bently, she is anything but 'an eight-year-old little girl'; and it's because of that attitude most people will never gain the clearance to observe her. Her genetic composition is a natural impossibility, and one must never let their guard down around her." Lane was now staring the man over, almost begging him to continue protesting.

"Seriously?" The man asked dumbfounded.

"She has taken the lives of several people, unintentionally, but still." Lida explained. "Subject Two is best left to people she knows, it's for your own safety."

Lane watched as she left the room quickly, leaving the new doctor in complete wonder of this child.

Lane motioned for one of his medical technicians to commence with the release of Subject One. As the ice started to slowly melt away from the suspended body, another technician approached and went about placing a mask over the sleeping woman. With each breath she would take, she would be unknowingly inhaling enough fentanyl to tranquilize a large elephant. Bently stood at a distance and observed the procedure with morbid curiosity.

Lida stood at the door of Subject Two's room with a guard at her side, his gun poised and ready to fire if necessary. She looked him over, disgusted before he gave in and lowered his weapon, what she wouldn't give for the other two guards before. This new guy had no clue what he was even up against. She knocked on the door softly, before scanning her card key and cracking it open a bit.

She sat alone in the dark corner, hunched over a small desk that had been given to her a few months back. The room had changed a lot since she had last been allowed to visit. Normally she'd rush in, collect the girl and leave before she even knew what had hit her. Lane had insisted upon a quick extraction from her quarters to avoid any chance of a fight from the 'animal', however, she always became dead weight and allowed them to drag her wherever they chose. She knew by now fighting got her nothing and just allowing them to do as they pleased made the tests shorter so she could return to her room and her drawings.

Said drawings were taped to the wall above her bed, a few old books sat on a shelf that had been brought in as well, and her mirror hung on a wall by the door. Her room had matured, much like she was currently doing.

"Child?" She whispered softly, causing the girl to stop her drawings and turned her head to face her.

Her hair was longer now, almost to her lower back again, but not quite. She watched as she turned in her seat, grabbed her shoes and socks and covered her bare feet before standing and taking her hand. With Lida, force was never necessary, she was always so complacent. Together, along with the guard only feet behind them, they quietly down the hall and into the examination room she had been coming to since the day she was born.

Lida helped her lay down on the MRI bed, both silent as she was strapped to it tightly. Subject Two hadn't uttered a word the entire time, she had come to be more silent in the past couple of years, ever since Lane had shaved her head and declared things be done his way. It seemed to crush the girl's spirit, she needed to desperately try and bring meaning back into the girl's life without pissing Lane off.

"You can go." Quint interrupted from the observation tower. His voice booming over the PA system.

"You're not going to stay?" She asked softly.

"I'm afraid not, little one. Not this time, but I'll be back to return you to your room, alright?" She nodded sadly before attempting to relax onto the hard table. Lida glanced up and Quint and Clendon before exiting the room and continuing back down the hall to the room Subject One was in.

She took her place back in the observation room and watched as Lane and Bently lowered the nude woman onto the table nearby. Bently studied her stomach and poked at the skin before speaking, clearly impressed.

"You'd never know she had a C-Section."

"She didn't." Lane answered back. "But you would never know she was cut open last year either."

"No C-Section? How-?"

"A natural birth with plenty of help from us on the outside. We wanted to cause as little trauma as possible to Subject Two upon exit. This was the first Hybrid birth, anything was to be expected, and we anticipated it all. Went through without an issue."

Lida rolled her eyes at this, she was still haunted by that incident. The eyes of Subject One had bore into her soul and took up residence there. Though Lane had promised she wouldn't remember a thing if she ever woke up as the fentanyl was given in such heavy doses it clouded her memory, Lida still feared this woman and what she was capable of. She had heard stories from guards and a few scientists on who this woman once was, she was not a force to be reckoned with.

Lane covered the wet and naked body in a large white sheet before allowing Bently to run his tests. He flashed a light into her eyes, the iris remaining hazel and the eyes lifeless. He looked her face over before forcing her eyes open with a metal contraption and quickly placing electrode pads along her forehead, neck and scalp.

"Slowly, lower the dosage!" Lane called out into the room.

She knew they needed to bring the subject to the brink of consciousness, enough to have her vision returned and her mind to respond to the images, but not enough for her brain waves to connect with the rest of her body. Just an ounce of a dosage too little, and they could all be in grave danger.

Bently's next action took Lida by surprise. He began holding up objects in front of the sleeping vampire, each one different then the last, as if administering an eye examine. If this theory proved sound, Subject two, who was at the other end of the building, should be seeing the same exact images.

"Subject One and Two's brain scans are lighting up, Sir." One of the scientists sitting at the switch board called out. Lida chanced a peek and could see on two separate monitors, both almost identical MRI's of a brain with the temporal lobe lit up with bright red leading to the back of her head.

"Have them move to phase two." Lane called back.

The young man mumbled something into a phone before all went silent. After a few minutes of complete silence, Lida watched as the bright red began to dwindle, the once red masses were now nothing more than splotches surrounded by a thin line of yellow and masses of green. Slowly, bit by bit the red and yellow disappeared and turned into green before both brain scans went completely dark.

"Halt!" One of the men yelled into the phone.

"Sir, both scans are reflecting nothing."

"What is there location?" Lane called back.

"What's your 20?" Was asked over the line. "Level 2, far east corner."

"Level 2, Sir, far east corner" Was called back down to Lane.

"How far is that?" Bentlee asked.

"Exact measurements will be taken later. However, it's far enough to prove your theory. It appears they only share vision when in close proximity of one another."

"Subject Two, can she see what's going on?"

"I have Quint asking her several questions in regards to what she can see, we can look over her answers once we get her back on ice."

"So soon?"

"I have learned it is best to not keep her out for long, though no damage is sustained, she is a higher risk to us." Lane explained pulling the electrodes off, Lida watched as one monitor fell dark while the other still showed one darkened brain image.

Bently had just backed away from the table, allowing room for two other scientists standing in to rush to the table in order to grab and place the vampire back into her frozen chamber. He had backed up no more than five feet when the body of the vampire sprung up from the table. The doctor jumped back and tripped over his own shoe, landing flat on his ass. Lane turned on his heel and rushed out the door before the reinforcement gates could lower fully. He left Bently behind in the room as another door opened at the far end and three guards in masks poured in, guns drawn.

Lida watched as the woman struggled to take in her surroundings before attempting to stand on her shaking legs. She could feel fear rising within her, and panic. Where was Subject Two? She needed to protect her, she needed to keep her safe. It was the sound of the door below flying open that held her firmly in place. Lane climbed the stairs and watched as down below Subject One managed to strike all three guards down with just the use of her hands, the sound of bullets flying through the air and bouncing off the far walls echoed in the room, a few breaking her flesh and imbedding themselves.

Because this was meant to be a common examination, the bullets weren't meant to harm her, just slow her down. Against Lane's orders UV bullets were never meant to be used. They needed Subject One alive for her contribution to their work, loosing her would be worse than loosing Subject Two, after all she was the only creature capable to birthing another Hybrid.

"Flash burn her, sir?" One man asked.

"No, put it back to sleep." With the flick of a switch and the press of a button an automated voice called out that maximum amount of fentanyl was being released into the room. Lida watched in mild horror as the woman's body fell to the floor and remained unmoving. "Get someone in there to dispose of the bodies, and someone else to check on Bently. I want her cleaned and on ice within the next fifteen minutes." He called rushing back down the stairs. "LIDA!"

She was pulled from her thoughts and exhaled heavily, amazed at how smoothly everything had gone in that moment of sheer terror. She rushed after Lane and walked alongside him as they briskly headed towards the elevator.

"You're going down to Level 2. Once there, go to the far east corner, collect Subject Two and return her to her room." Lida nodded as she waited for the elevator doors to open. "Once she is secure return to Subject Two's examination room."

"Yes, Sir."

As Lida made her way to the far east corner she found Subject Two sitting at a table with Clendon. Upon her entrance, Quint exited from behind her and stormed off down the hall with a folder in his hand.

"There she is." Clendon said, causing the girl to face her. "She's good to go. Quint is just taking up the transcripts from our end." Lida nodded before taking the girl's hand and leading her towards the elevator doors.

Once inside, she lowered herself onto her knees and stared the young child in the eyes. Her hands cupping her face and brushing hair out of her eyes.

"I need you to make me a promise ok? In case something happens, something very bad and I'm nowhere to be found, I need you to come here alright?" The girl looked at her, eyes wide. "This is the only time you come here, when things are very, very bad. You understand." She nodded her head. "You come in here and hit the '1'. Remember what 'one' looks like?" Another nod. "Good, NEVER go out the first door you see ok? That's where they will be waiting to stop you, go out the side door and don't look back."

"What's going to happen?" She questioned softly, sounding terrified.

"Nothing, and if we're lucky, nothing ever will. This is only in case of an absolute emergency."

"How will I know?"

"You'll just know. It's instinct." Subject Two nodded softly before allowing Lida to lead her back to her room. She didn't know what lay ahead for the girl, once they what they needed from her, she just wanted to be sure the girl at least stood a fighting chance.

Once inside, she ran back over to her desk, kicked off her shoes and threw her socks off before going back to her drawings. Lida smiled softly, before closing the door behind her and continuing down the hall to the examination room per Lane's request.

Upon entering she noticed almost immediately that Bently was sitting in a chair and being looked over by Lane himself. Quint stood in the corner, awaiting orders, folder in hand and Clendon had even joined them as well.

"It appears you will be fine, just a slight bump on the head, more pain to your pride then anything." Lane attempted to joke; or made a cruel jab. "However, now you have experienced firsthand why Subject One is hardly ever let out and for only limited amounts of time when she is."

"She killed those other men?"

"Yes, and no doubt yourself if her vision was clear enough to see you laying on the floor. The fentanyl put her back under so quickly, she won't remember any of this."

"If…she's so dangerous, why risk keeping her alive?"

"For the same reason we keep Subject Two alive, or for the same reason we are all even here. To find a cure, of course. It's imperative no one else suffers from these horrible diseases."

Bently looked over to Lida and shrugged, excited to look over the results of his test. Eager to learn more about Subject's One and Two and their connection beyond DNA.

"Ready?" Clendon asked Subject Two as she sat in her chair looking over his shoulder to the far wall. She nodded her head slowly and flinched slightly as the needle was injected into her body.

Lida and Lane stood off to in the corner looking over a file in his hand. Subject Two could feel the usual haze take over her mind and allowed it. Ever since she had lost Lida as a close friend she had taken to learning everything this one person had to teach her. She knew her mother was dead, having sacrificed her own life for her child, but wanted nothing more than to be connected to her, and if these doctors were going to give that to her, who was she to stop them?

She felt her body being released from the chair and lifted into the arms of one of the guards before her eyes slipped fully closed. Images and colors started to flash behind her eyes, and she welcomed it as she felt her bed slip beneath her and heard the door click to her room. She was alone, free to embrace all her mother had to show her.

A man appeared, looming over her, both physically and emotionally. He had a hold on her, a secret he knew so deep about her, but alas he had so many of his own. His lies had led her down a dark path she should have never traveled, hundreds of bad deeds in just as many years. Subject Two cried for the life her mother was tricked into living, cried for the woman who only sought a family only to gain it and loose it. She had witnessed the one she knew as Viktor die, the blade that had split his skull in half and the hand that had held it. She had witnessed true betrayal.

The man behind him rose to his feet, his eyes, his skin, his teeth. She had witnessed the man before in these dreams, felt him as she did her mother, but never as strongly as she did now. His appearance brought to light everything she had ever dreamed, and ever hoped. She had a father, a mother and a father who had loved each other. The two people responsible for her existence, her reason for being. She felt her heart drop into her stomach as she saw him now, wrapped in a large blanket and lying motionless in a large metal contraption. He was dead, gone from her, never to return.

Subject Two could feel the anger rising within her. Someone had taken her father from her mother and someone had stolen her mother from her. She was forced to live this life hidden behind these walls not knowing any of what went on. Forced to be their pincushion and living a life for others instead of herself. She could feel the anger rising, feel the hatred and wanted them all dead, every last one. She wanted to see them suffer the way she had done, wanted to feel the blood pour from their veins as she ripped them open as her mother had done. She wanted to show them what the offspring of a Death Dealer could do.

Subject Two's eyes shot open, her blood boiling as she could feel her fingers getting longer, her nails sharper, she could feel her teeth turning into fangs and feel her body adjusting to accommodate the monster she truly was. She jumped off the bed and flung her whole body at the door, it shook at her force and again, she through her body at it, desperate to get out. She let out a loud cry that came out as a howl before throwing her body against it once more. It rattled once again but remained closed. The mirror hanging on the wall next to her shook as well and she turned to see herself in it.

Her hands rested on the edge as she looked herself over. She looked every bit the monster she convinced herself to be. Slowly, she could feel her body start to relax, almost instantly she heard the sound of metal moving and turned to see her vents had closed and others she had no idea where even there had opened. Gas began to pour into her room, and as it filled the empty space and slowly her lungs, her gaze fell back to her reflection. Soon everything went black and her body fell to the floor.
