Epilogue: what lies beyond the story?

The next morning Etna and Flonne's slumber was interrupted by knocking on the wooden door of the demon girls room. groggy Etna dragged herself from her bed to answer the door "Yeah what do you want?" The demon girl snapped only to instantly regret it finding Flonne's mentor on the other side of the door. "I suggest you accent yourself with a thing called manors." the mage said sharply rebuking the red-haired demon. "sorry I thought you were one of the Prinnies or something," Etna said in apology.

Aither strolled past a sleepy Etna to the bed. "Ahem!" the mage cleared her throat loudly startling Flonne. The ex angel bolted out of the bed getting tangled in the blankets she crashed to the floor with a dull thud. Etna couldn't help but laugh a little at her friend's expense emerging from the tangle of blankets Flonne shot to her feet. "I'm so sorry, ma'am!" the fallen angel apologized bowing deeply. "I let you down and lost my head, I just... Panicked..." Flonne said babbling. "Yes, yes, I've heard what happened last night." Flonne's mentor confirmed. "and that my pupil is the difference between the classroom and the real world." the mage said Flonne straightening up fast enough to make her spin crack asked in surprise "You mean you're not mad at me or going to drop me as a student?" Aither chuckled at this "Of course not." she confirmed "With time and training you'll improve and be able to defend yourself." the mage said almost smiling.

"Did you hear Etna? I'm still her student!" Flonne said overjoyed. "Yeah, I heard." the demon girl said. The Fallen Angel was surprised by her mentor's reaction to the news of her attack. Flonne had expected a scolding for losing her head and forgetting her training, the Mage continued in a softer tone.

"When one fails in the training they can try again until they succeed. In battle one doesn't often get a second chance.". She explained, "That is the difference between the classroom and the real world and I push my students to do all they are capable of and more so they will be ready and able to react in any situation."

Flonne would never forget her mentor's words of wisdom. "I'll do my very best Ma'am!" the ex angel promised her teacher she would work hard and the next time she'd be ready. "Well then, shall we get to work yes?" The mentor said "Yes ma'am!" Flonne said excited to start her training...

The trio made their way down the stairs to the Gateway when a massive explosion shook the castle from within rushing to the shop area they found Laharl with his sword over his shoulder exiting the Dark Assembly wing a trail of smoke drifting from the open doors. "Laharl did you blow up the Dark Assembly again!" Flonne said going into full scolding mode. "And what if I did?" He asked. "Laharl you shouldn't resort to violence!" Flonne began only to be stopped by Etna pushing the ex angel towards the dimensional gateway. "Forget it Flonne." the demon girl said, rolling her eyes...

The sun was setting on another eventful day in the netherworld. Laharl's meeting with the Dark Assembly didn't go well and not for the first time since her arrival in the netherworld Flonne saw the senate floor reduced to rubble. The damage a single overlord's wrath caused showed just how powerful Laharl has become since the start of their adventures across the dark lands. Flonne wished Laharl's heart grew at the same rate as his power, still she had hoped one day he would become a kind and gentle overlord. Etna doubted this reminding the ex angel yet again that King Krichevskoy wasn't like most demons.

After a hard day's training, Flonne enlisted Etna's help in drafting a proposal to the dark assembly for classes on love and kindness. If Flonne wanted to help the demons of the netherworld learn about love and kindness what better place to start than the children. The red-haired demon reluctantly agreed to help with what she called a hair-brained idea. It wasn't until she had with Etna's help finished the outline of the proposal

That Flonne realized just how much work there was to be done. But the ex angel trainee had taken it upon herself to teach the virtues of love and kindness and one day love will defiantly reach the netherworld and then Angels and Demons would become friends.

Flonne stood on the small balcony outside her room, leaning agent the stone railing as she watched the sunset as it slowly disappear below the horizon. Her thoughts on all that's happened in her short time as a resident of the netherworld the highs and the lows and how though all of it her friends have been there for her even Laharl. Flonne smiled to herself, he still wouldn't admit it, but Flonne could see the kindness in his heart. Etna was right Laharl won't change overnight, but little by little his heart is changing.

Laharl wasn't alone, they've all changed since they first met. Etna, though still... Outspoken was a kind demon at heart Flonne was glad to have her as a friend...

The ex angel trainee's thoughts were interrupted by an envelope appearing in front of her.

"Huh, what's this?" She wondered aloud picking up the envelope. She saw a note attached. The note was written in familiar neat script Flonne recognized the moment she saw it the text read.

I hereby give permission to Angel trainees Vincent and Valerie to send this letter to

Fallen Angel Flonne residing in the netherworld.

Seraph Lamination.

Smiling Flonne opened the letter.

Dear Flonne, We heard about what happened last night and Master Angelina explained everything to us this morning. We're so glad you're alright and didn't get hurt. Seraph Lamination asked Master Angelina to tell us about what happened and to give us the special permission slip so we could send this through proper channels. Master Lamination really is a great leader and an example to us all isn't he?...

Laughing Flonne returned to her room to read the letter. She was glad her friends knew she was alright. Flonne was sure they would hear about the events of that night and worry about her. Flonne knew someday Celestia and the netherworld would Co coexist in peace and friendship and when that day came the nexus gates would open and she could see her friends again.

~Celestia: Seraphic Sanctuary: sacred altar~

"Well Lamination things may not have exactly turned out the way you and Krichevskoy planned, but all things considered, it could've been a lot worse," Drake remarked to the Seraph of Celestia. "Yes, they have in part thanks to you Drake I thank you for your help and I believe King King Krichevskoy would have thanked you'd as well." Lamination said to the young man before him. The demon smirked, still thanking demons huh? If you're not careful, it'll become a bad habit." he joked Lamination simply chuckled.

"What will you do now Drake?" the Seraph asked, curious about the young demon's plans. " Now that I have fulfilled my debt to you and King Krichevskoy. I intend to return home if what is written in those chronicles are true the then missing legendary masterpiece of Edgewise is still out there. And if it is, then it's my duty as the last of the Clan to find it." Drake says. As he turns to leave, he stops and looks back at the Seraph. "Farewell Lamination seraph of Celestia perhaps peace and friendship between our racers isn't so impossible after all." The demon lord says before disappearing. "Yes, perhaps one day the impossible will become reality." Lamination says smiling.
