I'm so sorry its been so long! /

Thank you for your continued interest and support with this story. I am eventually going to get round to re-writing/editing the rest of this story. I hope this ties you over until the next chapter.

I woke up tangled in my sheets. I quickly flung them off, as I was feeling claustrophobic, taking my pyjamas off with it. I was sweating, my hair slick to my forehead. I then noticed my balcony door was open, and the ring was missing from my finger, nowhere to be seen. I was so scared I didn't want to go back to sleep, so I got up to paint at my desk. I put an oversized sweater and some boxers on, and slicked my hair back up. I slipped my headphones on and played some music. I painted an old house, high up on the hill, with the sun setting behind it. I felt like I had been sat there for hours. I closed my eyes to listen to the song, the melody and lyrics reverberating through me;

Now he's gone, I don't know why

And 'till this day, sometimes I cry

He didn't even say goodbye

He didn't take the time to lie...

I felt something behind me, and the hairs on my neck stood up on end. I felt my breathing slow, and my heart pump faster. I took my headphones out.

"Nice try, Tony. Go to bed", I whispered, hoping it was him trying to scare me. I had no reply.

I turned around to see Gregory sat on the end of my bed.

"Shit! What the fuck are you doing?" I gasped. His eyebrows shot up.

"Your language is terrible. I was just checking everything went okay with the hunter,"

"You don't know he's a hunter. Besides, I didn't see him. Turns out a girl I was friends with used to go out with him. We had a slight disagreement, and I probably won't be seeing him again,"

He tried to hide a smirk, "A disagreement?"

"Yes. A disagreement. Can you get out of my room, please?" I demanded. It was making me uncomfortable, especially as I was indecent.

"Okay. I was just checking nothing untoward happened,"

"Well it didn't," I replied, turning back to my painting and pulling my sweater down to cover more of my legs. He paced over to me, grabbing the painting.

"What is this?" He asked, a scowl across his face.

"A painting..."

"Yes, I can see that. Where do you know this building from?" He looked like he'd seen a ghost. How ironic.

"I must have saw it on the way here. There wasn't any like that back home,"

He didn't look convinced, but put it down. There was a heavy silence between us. He was staring intently at me, looking me up and down.

"I make you uncomfortable, don't I?"

"Why would you say that?" I asked, anxiety washing over me.

"Your heart rate speeds up, and you get jittery," he smirked, tilting his head sideways as he leaned up against my desk.

"It's not funny. But yes, you do. You are a vampire. It's not something I'm used to," I informed him. I still couldn't really get my head around it. I quickly changed the subject.

"By the way, have you seen my ring?"

"What ring?" He asked, looking deep into my eyes.

"The ruby one, with the leaves on it,"

He shook his head, obviously not knowing what I was talking about. He must not have been here that long. I didn't want to ask.

"That's okay. Goodnight, Gregory,"

He gently touched my cheek, his ice cold hands just grazing my skin. It sent shivers down my spine.

"Goodnight," he smirked, walking out onto the balcony. I closed the door behind him, but he was already gone. I sat back down on my bed, so many thoughts racing around my head that I couldn't focus on one. My mind wandered, and I drifted back off to sleep.

Thank you for the reader who pointed out what happened last update! Much appreciated.
