Sigh, its been like a year already and now COD is over... Well, I noticed that I had half of chapter 2 already finished so I figured I would continue it. I am pretty foggy on what the actual plot is so bare with me some more guys. Thank you in advance for reading and patiently waiting.

Present Amy Chen POV

It started out like any day, as just another normal one in the crime lab. I was concentrating on my work, well trying to concentrate, as my fingers fluttered across my keyboard until I was interrupted by silly, childish noises only a fool would make. I looked up and shook my head at what I was seeing. "Kai! Stop playing around and put that back in the container where its suppose to be before you break something!" Kai was slicing the air with a sword and making "Hiyaaa!" noises. "In just a little while Amy! I need to practice the ways of the sword, in case ninja assassins break into the crime lab!" He replied.

Unsurprisingly, I did not have the patience to deal with Kai's behavior and felt the need to blast my voice at him. I looked over my computer and made eye contact with him, bearing a stern look. "No Kai. I said put it back."

Kai obliviously ignored me and continued to flail the dangerous weapon around. "Yeah, yeah yeah. I'll put it back. Stop worrying Am- Whoooa!" He yelped and safely put down the sword as he kneeled down on the floor.

His action was due to a shake coming from the ground. "Ahhh!" I felt it too and took the necessary precautions, dropping to the ground and taking cover under my computer desk. "What's happening?!" I screeched.

"I don't know! Maybe the aliens are finally taking their action to invade!" Kai replied. On any other circumstances, I would have angrily retorted at that response but instead cradled my head in my arms.

Fortunately, I felt the intense shaking die down and peeked my head out, seemingly to see if it was safe. "It stopped.."

I slowly got up and was greeted by concerned, urgent faces. Mal and Natara had rushed into the lab and surveyed the surroundings. "Is everyone alright?!" Mal called out.

I nodded slowly to respond. "Yes, we're okay."

"Hey Agent Hottie! Hey Maligator!" Kai giddily greeted, as if nothing at all occurred.

Mal and Natara shook their heads rather than commenting and turned their attention back to me. Natara spoke. "There was an unexpected earthquake and we came to check on how you two are doing. I'm glad to see nothing bad happened, but that quake it was.. odd."

I agreed that it was rather peculiar, it was so sudden and it ended as soon as it started. I opened my mouth to respond but closed it again, not finding the right words to say. I tried to wreck my brain to search for the words but what thoughts came, left when I heard a few exhausted groans. I followed the sounds to find its source to behind me.

I noticed Kai was not where he once stood a few moments ago and heard him call out. "Hey! Was there always two kids lying here unconscious?"

"What?!" The three of our heads whipped around to where he was and rushed over. We found him kneeling next to the file cabinets. For once, one of Kai's unusual remarks was the truth and there were two bodies, a young teenage boy and a girl seemingly the same age, on the floor. We kneeled next to him to get a closer look.

"Should I get my stick?" Kai asked.

"NO!" The three of us blasted in his ear, Mal adding a "What the hell, Kai." We did not want to know why he wanted it or why he even had a stick lying around somewhere.

"What in the world are you planning to do-" Mal stopped when we heard a few more groans and one of the kids started to stir.

Present Natara POV

Mal and I came into the lab to check on how Amy and Kai were doing after that quake. It was very unusual. I was next to the window during the event and when I took a glimpse outside, it was as if only the precinct was experiencing this phenomenon.

I kneeled next to the two unconscious teenagers and when the boy started to move up slowly, Mal and I scooted back to give him space. "Whoa there, easy. Don't need to rush." Mal gently coaxed.

I heard his brief whispers. It was as if he was talking to the girl beside him. "Mel, I don't think it worked." I pointed my eyebrow at that, wanting to know what "did not work". But that wasn't the only questions racing through my mind. Who were these two kids? And how did they suddenly and mysteriously end up here in the first place.

The boy slowly got up and blinked when he studied us. He seemed somewhat surprised and I could tell many gears were turning in his mind. It was very faint but I caught him mutter under his breathe, "Nevermind."

Again, I wondered what he meant but I knew I wasn't going to get any answers if I asked now in his current state. "Are you okay?" I asked in concern.

"I-I am." He nodded. "Yes, I'm fine." He looked down to his side and the girl started to slowly wake up. "Mel.." He carefully helped her up and then whispered a few words that were too quiet for me to hear. But whatever he said, her eyes widened.

Nathan POV

When I woke up and my eyes registered what was in my surroundings, it looked the same at first. The same crime lab in San Francisco but when I took a closer look, the people around me seemed different. I spotted the little details that were different, like the amount of grey hairs on my dad's head weren't there. They were years younger.

I was startled at first. The stupid piece of junk Kai created actually worked and set my sister and I back in time. So, when my mom (well past mom? I don't know. Time travel is already confusing me.) asked me if I was okay, I stuttered a bit and responded a little late. My attention drifted to my right and I helped my sister up. I took action to quickly fill her in on what was going on by whispering, "It actually worked. I think we're in the past."

Her eyes widened when she processed those words and looked at me, her eyes seemed screaming she was scared, worried and sorry. She was blaming herself for this and I gave her a hug to tell her she shouldn't. The words my mom and dad used to say to me played in my head. "Nate, you're a strong man. If anything happens to you and your sister, I trust you to take action and keep the both of you safe. Protect her."

I was knocked out of my thought by the sound of my dad clearing his throat. (Again past dad. Whatever.) Our gaze directed towards the group of adults circling us. "Sorry, sir."

"Now can somebody tell me who are you kids and how you two ended up here in the first place?" He asked.

I had enough strength back to stand up. "My name is Nathan." Then, I helped my sister up. "This is my sister, Melanie."

"Mel." She simply said as she straightened out her brown hair. "I prefer Mel. As for how we got here..." Her sentence dragged as we gave each other unsure looks. What in the heck were we supposed to say.

So, we just continued to stare at each other until we were luckily saved by a blonde haired man barging into the room. "Fallon! Williams!"

The whole room averted their attention to the man. I recognized him from old pictures at the station. The captain that preceded my dad. His mouth was open, ready to spout out some orders until his eyes focused on me and Mel. We tensed, noticing his attention on us as my sister moved closer to me and clutched onto my shoulder. He closed his mouth, eyeing us skeptically then moved his gaze to our parents. "Fallon, have you been reading the case files while I'm out?!" He barked.

"Whoa, hold on Chuckles. I did not-" Dad started to protest but the stern man cut him off.

"Don't even try creating excuses for yourself, Fallon. My quarters are for me only. But at least you got the task of recruiting some teenagers done. Report with them at my office in 10 minutes." He ordered then left the room.

At his departure, we all looked at each with looks of pure confusion. "What just happened?" Dad and Mel asked into the air.

Well. Hope it was worth the wait. One year later and this story hasn't even hit the actual plot yet... Sorry about that. I don't think my writing has improved either. I'm so glad I got the next chapter out to you guys. Truthfully, the great reviews were what made me get back into finally writing. So thanks!

See you later! (And hopefully not in another year...)
