Disclaimer: I don't own WHR.

Robin walked through the door leading to the balcony. She grasped the railings and felt the air of the warm midsummer night on her face. The balcony faces towards the road and on the other side, a man clothed in dark is standing, staring at her.

Every night since they parted, this has been their routine. The hunter would walk pass through her house and she would wait for him on her balcony like Juliet would. And like the lovers from Verona, they are also star-crossed, for a hunter should not fall in love with his prey.

When they escaped from the fall of the Factory, they became fugitives together. They were always on the run but they were inseparable. She followed wherever Amon had lead. Eventually, the two fell in love with each other and for once in their lives, they felt complete. It was inevitable, despite their dangerous predicament.

They spent their nights planning their next move, moving from one place to another, and most of the time, doing what lovers do. One night, Amon asked her, "If I ask you to marry me, would you?" In a perfect world, Robin would throw her arms around him, fill him with kisses and say yes for she does not dream of anything else other than be with him forever. But that night, Robin did not answer anything. Before the sun could rise, she stood while he was still asleep and slipped into the night.

She did this because she did not want him to break his vow. When the time comes that she became addicted to her powers, he will be the one to hunt her. Even though there were no signs of her losing her control, she wouldn't take chances. She must die before she can harm anyone, in his hands as he vowed. And the feelings they have for each other will be an inconvenience when that time comes.

So in that warm midsummer night, she was the first to look away. The dark man, unimpressed, walked on. It was never the famous balcony scene for them.

There! It's been years since I had made a fanfic but I just need a release this time. It's a pity that there are only a few WHR fanfics made recently, it's still a good series after all this time.

I had written 6 fanfics for WHR, mostly crappy tragedies (I was so young then and I don't understand my morbid fascination for tragedies). Reviews are very much appreciated. Thank you for reading.
