Wow! A long wait for such a short chapter. I apologize profusely. But the ending is just so sweet, I hope it makes up for that!

Disclaimer: I do not own "Bye Bye Birdie" I only take credit for my own additions.

Rosie was right on time: six- thirty AM. Albert was standing there, waiting for her. "Here I am, Albert. Six- thirty right on the button," she said as she looked around, not seeing a train.

"The train has already left," Albert said with a smile.

"I know, that's because I listened to you-" he cut her off.

"With Conrad... and Mama," Albert said happily.

"Albert... you didn't," Rose exclaimed with disbelief.

"Oh, but I did," Albert announced proudly, "why would we get on a train to New York, when we have tickets to Pumpkin Falls, Iowa?"

"What's in Pumpkin Falls, Iowa?" Rose questioned.

"A teaching position. I hope you brought your papers, Rosie, because they prefer their applicants to be married," Albert was beaming now. It had taken him eight years to come to this point in his life, but here it was. Rosie's face lit up.

"Oh, Albert!" she exclaimed as she flung her arms around him. He picked her up wedding style and spun her around. He then kissed her with full force. Even Rose was surprised at how much passion he had been holding back. He set her down gently and she reached up to touch his face.

"What are you doing, Rosie?" Albert asked with interest. She continued to trace his face.

"I'm in awe that this face is actually mine," Rose murmured before kissing him again. When the kiss broke, Albert held Rose as close to his body as he could until the train pulled up to the station. He was finally hers.

The end! I really love the way it ends and I hope you did too. :) I plan on trying to write another Rosie/Albert fic sometime. It has been started, but I've hit a roadblock so I've decided not to post the first chapter of that one until I figure out where I want to go with it so it'll be less of a wait.
