I love this story. I decided to leave my love for every fic I love to see. I really liked the bit about "after".

Lovely chapter! I rarely see Gilbert's family in these, but when I do, its a treat. You did them both justice. I can definitely see Gilbert's mom fretting about her son as a mother does naturally. Even though I've read the books, I can't wait to see where this ends! Please continue. Until then, thanks for taking the time to write this story for us AOGG fans to read, its been a pleasure coming across an author who truly knows how to take on Montgomery's work with such a way with words, and captures montgomery's beloved story wonderfully.

Wow! This chapter is great! I always find it hard to do action scenes, but you nailed it. The fact that Christine's own fiancee was led to believe the lie speaks volumes as to how far Gilbert would go to stir up emotion within Anne, almost in spite of her previous relationship. The little scene with Anne and Gilbert at the end was absolutely precious. Also - I feel silly that I only now just caught on to the use of Alice in Wonderland excerpts.
Question - was this fight in the books? It's been a hot minute since I glanced at this book. Either way, wonderful chapter. Excited for chapter four.

Phil is writen with such a unique flair. Of course, I always love Phil, but you've nailed her down to a 't' and I am living for it! She is the kind of friend we all have in our lives at one point or another, and the very real emotion to it. Anne and Gilbert's back and forth was brilliant, it is so easy to want to have the two make up immediately but I love that you didn't. You went for the bolder choice, and one I feel was well suited for the scene. I love that even the smallest details have layerd and symbolic meanings throughout the text. Gilbert's explanation gave us a look at how even the smallest of things can reveal our true intentions. Overall, *chef's kiss* well done!

wow! I love your take on the series, it felt as if I were reading Montgomery's work herself. I love the back and forth, it seemed as though it all wove together nicely. This is a wonderful start to the story and I can't wait to read more!

Oh I love this so much. I wish I could quote all of it, but I love the bit about them reassembling their story together the most. I love watching Anne reassess her life after she was so sure where it was headed. Isn't it disturbing how close Anne came to sleepwalking into marriage with Roy? Deep down she knew he wasn't right for her, but she was going to say yes anyway. Thank goodness she came to her senses at the last moment. As usual you write all the ancillary characters so delightfully, whether they be the patty's place girls, Di and Fred or the green gables folk.

So glad you updated! This was a great chapter- a little less chaotic than some of the others, but just as beautifully written and delightful. Hope you update again soon!

I love how all their glances and careful words, and tentative smiles feel so loaded with electricity and emotion. Makes me think of Pride and Prejudice movie (2005).
