~3 years later~

"Damn, I can't believe this! I mean, we always knew Banks was gonna make it but you guys, too?! So lucky!" Chris exclaimed.

The gang was at the airport, sending off Adam, Stickler, McGill, Brown and Larson to the Minor League tryouts in LA. The five of them had been scouted as talented players, potential additions to various NHL teams.

"Man, if you guys make it, you'll play in the NHL!" Joey exclaimed.

"Shit, Joey, you should've been coming with us!" Adam said quietly.

"It's okay, hockey is behind me now, with dad gone, I need to take care of mom, plus I start college in September so…"

"Nerd." Stickler tried to laugh it off but the thought of not having his best friend and brother anymore was too much for him. He hugged him tightly, tears flooding his eyes.

"Ha ha, look, Stickler's crying!" Morgan joked.

"I'm gonna break your neck." Nathan said between tears, making the others laugh. Winnie then led him to the side.

"I'm gonna miss you so bad!" Stickler embraced her.

"Me too! But I'm so happy for you! And I'm gonna be waiting for you to come back!"

"I'm gonna call you every day!" Nathan felt himself becoming emotional again.

Nearby, Gina and McGill were also saying their goodbyes. "If you leave me for a tanned, blonde bimbo, I'm gonna fly down there and strangle you both!" She joked.

"Hmm, you and a blonde, I like the sound of that!" Patrick teased her. They soon rejoined the others.

"Well, you guys have a good time, who knows, maybe in a year or so we're gonna watch you on TV!" Chris tried to brighten up the atmosphere. "Hey, Larson, maybe you can find a cute guy down there, eh?"

"I doubt I'll have the time!"

"Wow, what if you guys end up on different teams and play against each other…"

The thought had crossed all their minds but was one they didn't want to think about because it made them sad.

The announcement for the boarding for their flight was heard overhead.

"Well, I guess that's it…" Adam said, hugging his sister.

"Hopefully we can come back soon!" Brown added.

The boys waved to their friends and former teammates, their hearts full of both excitement and sorrow.
